Southern Air gound school class may 14th

My brother is in this class and wants to know if anyone else is.

Sorry he doesn’t have a flightinfo log in and really does not want to pay for one.

Lots o pressure! Pressure like, very recently, cross the pacific, in rest for a whole 3 hrs and called to bring back an airplane or else. Answer to the tune of " don't worry well fix the paper work". Nothing to do with pay, or being gone. These companies are resume builders, they are what they are, just don't let him get painted into a corner.

I have been at Southern for a while now and never had anything like that happen. Every now and then you may have to deadhead after a trip and that sucks, but never been asked to do anything illegal. It really isn't a bad place to build time. It is not a career stop so build your time and have fun doing it.

It really isn't a bad place to build time. It is not a career stop so build your time and have fun doing it.

my brother wants to know how the training is, there grounds school is just over 3 weeks (pretty fast).

Good luck with that. My ground school was about 50 days total. We had 28 days of ground school and about that many days to get the sims done.
I seem to remember 6 CPT's, 7 sims, a check ride and a loft. With the sim at Aeroservices breaking down every other session you can expect delays. Ground school is basically a powerpoint presentation so you will do a good bit of self study. My class did most of ours at the pool drinking beer and barbequeing(not sure how to spell that). The instructors are good guys and most will have beers with you at the pool. Be careful of the happy hour at the Comfort Inn across the street as it is extremely bottom shelf stuff. (bad hangovers) The systems are easy, as always know your memory items and limitations. Be sure you know the checklist responses, flows, and profiles upon entering the CPT phase. Ground school is easy and can be fun. PM me if you have any questions.

What types of flying do you do on a 17 day sortie? Can you give me an example of the routes and layover times? I have always wondered about your type of flying. Thanks.
