hi everyone. i am a *poor* college senior who will graduate in may/'05. i then plan on starting my flight training as soon as i move back home. until then, though, i am left with my books and my MS flight simulator 2002. i have rod machado's book about becoming a private pilot and i like to work on radio navigation a lot on my computer. only problem is, FS 2002 only comes with a few sectional maps for las vegas, parts of alaska, seattle, and hawaii.

for you real pilots out there (or flightsimmers who might have access to them) would there be any way that you could private message me or reply to this post and we can exchange email addresses so i could obtain a few sectional charts? they don't have to be current or anything, i would just like to get something that i can print out and polish my navigational skills. OR if anyone knows of a website that has free printable maps, i would really appreciate your help. i absolutely cannot wait to join the ranks of all of you pilots out there, but i have to graduate first :(. i am itchin' to get out and get flying!! thanks for any and all of your help.

Fltplan.com

You can access all the charts you want and it’s free! Just log in put in a basic flight for the area you want and hit the chart button.

I have lots of expired sectional charts. I usually donate them to flight schools. I would be happy to send you any you want. Email me at [email protected] and let me know which ones you want and how to get them to you.

Sectionals

All you have to do is call a local FBO and see what they do to the outdated sectionals. The FBO I used to work at would cut the top off (for credit) and toss the remainder into the trash. It's a good source of free maps (now if only I could find a way to make money with the sectionals).

Thanks guys and gals!

Thanks so much for everyone's help so far!! If anyone else can chime in, that'd be great!

I do not know about 2002 but 2004 is excellent for a number of things. My son has learned a ton of material through the flight lessons that they have there from private through ATP.

I am constantly amazed by the quality of the program and the ability to download real time weather, interact with ATC, and the effort to be precise. While he is but 10, it has been great for him to learn about cockpits and things like GPS to auto throttles.
