I enrolled into one of the brainwashing camps so I could get the "coveted" interview with Continental Express and hopefully be piloting a fancy E120, ATR42 or a 1900. At the end of my instrument rating I had spent 18K which was when I sort of wised up and finished up at a local airport. My wife actually said " you idiot..you only have 25K to begin with..you better find another place to get your ratings". I think I still spent 50K on all of them. I finally paid that monkey off. I am guessing loans are getting harder and harder to come by and hopefully students are wising up and getting their ratings via a cheaper avenue instead of a using the more expensive routes.
