DUBLIN, March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- FLY Leasing Limited (FLY) ("FLY"), a global lessor of modern commercial jet aircraft, today announced that it has sold six Boeing 717-200 aircraft manufactured in 2001. The aircraft were acquired by FLY in 2011 as part of a 49-aircraft portfolio transaction.
"The sale of these non-core aircraft will result in a gain over our current book value and generate gross cash proceeds of $17 million," said Colm Barrington, CEO of FLY.

Maybe those are the "other options" flt ops guys kept talking about when asked when they were going to start OE. Who knows?

Some people on Pprune are speculating the aircraft are currently located in Australia and will stay in Australia... Who knows!!!!!

We don't need six more. I bet you guys could find a use for them.
We sure do need them, Dan! Haven't you heard the latest rumor about us opening up a new west coast base to replace Seattle. We'll be flying the new 717's all over the western U.S. to feed our flights!

;)

Now lets see how far a rumor can travel. :D

Well played!

Ha, goes against your arguments of doing "what you do best" (point to point to and from Hawaii) and Hawaiian's supporting Hawaiian. Besides Alaska would never let thàt happen (or your codeshare partners (DAL and AA) or whoever it is this week.)

Big difference when you think you're the big dog in town (or the islands) and bringing your toys to someone else's toy box. If I made a comment about SW coming to do interisland flying I'm sure you would get your panties in a wad. You guys may want to start more realistic rumors!

Good Luck,
KBB

And once again the SWA arrogance makes an appearance!

Nope, not arrogance... I never said SW was gonna hand their a$$ to them, that would be arrogant. They were joking amongst themselves that they were starting a rumor about their company. I responded to that.

Excuse me! Where's the thread about DAL, I think I'll go over there next and add my .02 worth.

As you said, it was a joke. Some of it an inside joke and most of it on our professions tendency to spread rumors. You somehow twisted it into a SWA "us vs. you" issue.
