The mergers are coming. Wall street has decided that mergers are a good idea. A CEO who wants to make money will sell himself to the whims of Wall Street because in the end, the majority of an airline CEO's compensation comes from stock sales. By catering to the wishes of some "guru" in NYC (who was last month the self-appointed savior of the textile/ fast-food/ automotive/ replacement widget industry), a CEO can raise the value of his stock options. Even the mere speculation of merger can make those theiving idiots-in-charge a few million richer overnight. If you think SJS is a problem in our industry, wait until merger-wealth envy flares up among the CEOs. Doug Parker is going to get that new GT500 first... who is going to one up him, and who is going to for that new Ferrari?

Please don’t view one person’s view as an indication to the entire Midwest pilot group.

Oh no, don't worry, chuckster has made quite a name for him/her/itself! No one would dream of using chucky as a spokesperson for a specific airline... ;) I've jumpseated many times on Midwest Express and know that you guys have a topnotch pilot and flight attendant group. Unfortunately, you'll find "rotten eggs" at every airline...

I wouldn't be interested in being a UAir acquisition, either. The only airlines that I wouldn't mind being at the bottom of in an acquisition would be SWA or CAL (in that order), simply because the pay scales are livable as an F/O with a family for 5, 7, or even 10 years and there's less chance of a furlough at airlines that are actively hiring.

Just my .02 cents, but thanks for the deviation into "fantasy land". :)

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Why don't you quote the whole thing, my flame baiting friend? You know, the part where I said the Midwest acquisition would hurt us junior (at the time) f/o's unless it was a staple, but that a staple wouldn't be fair and I doubt we'd see it. ;)

Again, my personal feelings about this SLI aren't representative of anyone but myself. Have a nice night. :)

Exactly.

The only Midwest folks who wouldn't like it are the super-senior guys that would no longer be top dog, or the guys that really, really like being their own small airline (big fish, small pond syndrome), or the super-junior guys who might end up at the bottom of the list at Airtran and even THOSE guys would be in a better position than they are now unless Midwest started buying airplanes (11 days left in this year, didn't they say something about an anouncement by then?)

I'm hearing more grumbling from the junior Airtran pilots than anyone else. A few people seem to be happy about it because it's financially positive for the company as a whole, but most of us realize that if the integration is anything other than a staple for the Midwest guys (which wouldn't be fair and I doubt we'd see anyway), we WILL end up getting the shaft regarding upgrade.

Oh jeez. Another thread where Lear70 hoping to be stapled to SWA. Wonder how many more there are?

I guess all that has changed now though. What a flippin hypocrite!

See Bobby- are you expecting Lear to agree w/ your judgements? That's just flame. It's like fighting with your family-> there's no "winning" it. Just bad, derisive communication man.

Thanks for not quoting him.

I'd probably take him off my ignore list and find him worth reading if he'd just come out and admit he's a SWA pilot and get it over with and actually responded to counter-comments constructively. Ever notice how, when someone debates back with facts, he just runs to another thread and flames again? When you can't debate, I guess you attack the person. Classic FI.

Then again, I've never much appreciated people who sling mud from behind the cover of anonymity on here. Be a man. Own up to your words with your real identity. You want to debate anonymously in a POLITE way? Fine. You want to *ATTACK* anonymously? The flamers on this board would never say the things they say on here in person or if people knew who they were.

Man up, or debate politely. Otherwise, I have no interest in what that person has to say. Thank you to those who debate professionally and politely; it says a lot about your character.

Oh for the love of all. A 4 1/2 year old thread/post. Someone needs a life!
