...for underpaid jobs?

Requirements: Bachelors degree in Mathematics. Airline Transport License. 500 hours pilot in command. 500 hours pilot in command Falcon 900. 1st class medical and most recent FAA clearance. Two years experience on the job being offered.
Company Benefits: Wage: $63,050

WTF? Do you have to come in to the hangar on your days off and do differential equations.

Maybe it's so you can update the CP's logbook.

Please tell us where you found this joke of a job posted!!!!!!!!!
I'd enjoy screwing with them just for the fun of it. $63,050 for a 900 Capt? WTFO!!! Thats half of what it should be at the mid-range. Whats a "most recent FAA clearance" anyway?

planejobs.com. The listing is for a SIC, but they still need to be screwed with.

I hope the wage paid isn't the only benefit the company offers. That ad almost makes it sound like you're SOL for anything else like health insurance, etc.

I have found pilots with good math skills normally make it through training

Pound Sand will ya. One day you're saying a monkey could do this job and the next your advocating for some tool who will only hire a math major.
From one old Navy guy to another just STFU already. Your schtick is beyond old.

maybe they are targeting a buddy who's only redeeming quality is the BA in math :-)))

Bet they don't know a math major is going to find out he is being under paid.

Never used logarithms to know when to flare.

Mobie

Rice when did I ever say a monkey could do this job? I did say anyone with a certain level of skill and desire could do this job. If you flew in the Navy you had to have a certain score on the math portion of the AQT/FAR to get into flight training. Plus you had to take physics placement test to start training to make sure you were not a candidate for stupid study. Technical minds pick this stuff up quicker.

Stupid Study? I guess that'd be me

BTW Hullie, we all know your time at MIT got you your dream job down there and look how much money you're making now

Just a guess, a degree in math is an assurance you actually worked your way through a difficult course of study. There are other difficult degrees out there, they may have just happened to pick math. We all also know there are degrees, which equate to pay your fee get your B.

What they should have said was a Bachelors of Science in Math, Physical Science or Engineering if they wanted a technical undergrad.

We should have they administrators put all these threads about degrees on a seperate board.

no degree board required to succeed in aviaiton.

so was mine, over a beer it would be funny

Probably; something always gets lost in the e-translation...

Yip:

Maybe if degrees were mandatory it would shrink the supply of available pilots and pay would increase.

But as a management pilot, that's not your agenda is it?
