My parents purchased a farm back in 2000 and the guy they bought if from use to have a plane that he kept on the property. He is now deceased and before his passing he gave this prop to my parents to give to me. I would like to be able to mount it on the wall, but I have no idea how to mount it without damaging the prop. Has anyone ever mounted a prop on a wall before? If so can you share how you did it. We rent right now so I would like to do it without causing much damage to the wall and no damage to the prop. Of course we all know that props really belong on planes, but I don't have one of those. Maybe one day I can keep my plane on the property.

It prop has more sentimental value than actual value, but if anyone would care to share how much the prop is worth it would be appreciated. Below are pictures of the prop.

Thanks for the input.

Get yourself a piece of 1/2" plywood, about a foot square. Drill 6 holes that match the bolt holes in the prop. Bolt the prop to the plywood. Fancy it up a little, so it doesn't look like a piece of plywood ;)

One screw into either a stud or two into sheetrock anchors should hold it just fine, I would think. Minimal damage.

Fly safe!

If you have a living room with a mantle, that is always a good spot to display a prop. No mounting required.

Now I have a excuse to buy some more power tools! Sweet!

I used two long toggle bolts. You'll have to drill a 5/8 hole probably in the sheetrock, but it requires no stud to mount and the holes can be easily filled later when it comes down.

The best tool store for a pilot's budget.

E-bay is good for tools too. My only concern with E-bay is that I might be buying stolen goods. How else can I explain that I got that circular saw for 15 bucks. Maybe I'm jaded, because I have been robbed 3 times in the last year. Once for money out of my old house, again out of the storage bin at the house for golf clubs and 700 bucks worth of dress clothes (guess they didn't know what was in that box, it was beside the clubs), and a third time (last week) some moron cut off my catalytic converter. Crawled right up under my car and cut it off. What a crack head.

Sorry to get off of the subject. Back to props and power tools. They don't piss me off like thieves.
