From last night?

Went to a stand up show, pretty funny, but the G and Ts were weak, so I didn't laugh at most of the jokes. Some were pretty good though, centered around bowel movements (and having just dropped off a hot one, I am still chuckling)

Wasn't driving, but saw plenty of people get pulled over. Piggies were out in full force, choppers and cruizers.

Drank some more till about 4, ate a lot of strange things which caused me to go to a Brown Alert just about an hour ago (it must of been about 4 pounds)

as always, said some things I will probably regret saying and realized that I am not that young anymore

Happy new year

Whoa dude! TMI!

But anyway, happy new year to you as well. :)

Sadly I was reading in the paper doday that there were over 600 traffic deaths in MN last year. One occured on the 30th at an interchange that I had just gone through 10 minutes earlier.

Y'all be careful now!

I remember everything. Including the 15 minute barrage of gunfire and cannon fire that lasted until precisely 16 minutes after the hour and then ceased. My hope is that those folks weren't drinking, either.

The problem is that nothing that occured last night was particularly memorable.

You live in Buckhead?

Hmmmm. Sounds like a fun and proper way to ring in the new year...as long as safety was considered. Hate to see anyone get hurt during a celebration.

I just made some really good soft shell taco's with the wife...watched the incredibly ludicrust movie "S.W.A.T." and pounded down some Bacardi Gold and caffene free Coke. Popped the cork on some bubbly at midnight and toasted the old and new year with the wife.

Hope everybody made it home safely last night and best wishes to you all, in the new year! :D

Is buckhead anywhere near hogwarts, or is that a local term for a sheet metal shop?

Spend enough time riveting, and gunfire only sounds soothing.

It upset the dog.

Different subject, I found it interesting that while not a shot was fired during the taking of Saddam, seven people were killed shortly there after in celebration. Weapons fired skyward, and projectiles raining down. The word irony was made for moments like that.

It is where the rich college boys and girls go to spend Daddy's money, pretty much the party capital of Atlanta.

Such bitterness. You obviously don't live here.

Actually, that's Alanis Morisett's definition of irony... Irory is when the literal meaning is the opposite of the actual meaning...

Sorry, I've had way too much school/beer.:D

You haven't been here in a while. It now looks more like the set for the movie "Colors". A whole lot of cars full of drunk people sporting 20 + inch rims. You will not find many rich college boys and girls there as when I hung out there in the 80s and 90s. (BTW, your class envy is showing.)

All the big club operators in ATL are opening clubs in the burbs to get away from it.

When people die celebrating the capture of the person who is responsible for so many of their deaths, presumably ending those needless deaths, it's Ironic.

Apparently too much beer, not enough school. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Huh? I didn't know what irory is, but irony is also the "incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs."

...And unfortunately I will remember last night forever as the first true lame-a$$ed New Years in Hawaii due to the successful wiping out of all the great chinese fireworks that used to be so readily available to all of us. Too bad they can't put forth the same effort and realize such results in the Crystal Meth scourge.

From Braindroppings, by George Carlin
If a diabetic, on his way to buy insulin, is killed by a runaway truck, he is the victim of an accident. If the truck was delivering sugar, he is the victim of an oddly poetic coincidence. But if the truck was delivering insulin, ah! Then he is the victim of an irony.

I was over NYC at 400, RVSM started at 2004,as a deadheading crewmember with a 737 to myself with 10 other FA's. (all female for once)The fireworks were great it was as clear as a bell. We had one bottle of champagne to share around, I had a little sip, diffrent but nice.

I was watching a WWII show about anti-aircraft fire/flak and it got me wondering...How many people died from the flak falling from the sky? You never here anyone say anything about it but there had to be a fair number of deaths and injuries on the ground attributed to it.

A bunch of us sat around watching some WWII footage on Discovery Wings a few weeks ago, wondering something similiar. Lots of falling brass, not to mention expended rounds being fired up there. How many casualties on the ground from this...or drop tanks...or flack fallout?

Any specific studies done on aircraft lost to this, or ground fatalities? Idle curiosity.
