So, how long for CAL and UAL to merge?

I have been keeping a close eye on the DAL NWA developments and it looks like this is fast becoming a, "done deal"

It is no secret CAL wants to stay independent, but if there is consolidation, CEO Kellner has stated CAL would react to deal with the changes in the industry.

As far as I am concerned a DAL-NWA announcement means indirectly a UAL-CAL announcement.

I wouldn't be surprised if the deal isn't already in place and simply awaiting the freeing up of the golden share. There was a rumor that AA would look to get involved/interfere with any attempt between CAL/UAL but you have to wonder if that is possible given the hit AA has taken the past week.

By the way, as a CAL employee, interference is welcome.

UAL must be buying CAL soon.

No flowbacks again!!!

Our union is talking some smack about letting Ex-Express people come back. Sounds like a flowback to me. I think some pretty big furloughs are being planned at CAL and we are expected to help out. Not again!!!!

Once you've been to CAL, your not coming back anymore. You are tainted. LOL

OMG woman, why do you always have to make an ass of your self. WOW.

Actually a little birdy told me today on the phone that the company and the union (XJet) have reached an agreement to allow anyone leaving to be on a 90 day leave of absence when they resign. That way they DO get to come back if things get any worse in the industry. Doesn't cost the company much, and makes it a little easier for the senior guys to take a job elsewhere (knowing that for at least a little time, they have a fallback plan). That's good for you guys that are stuck at Express forever. Maybe you'll gain a few more numbers this way...

Besides, why shouldn't they have the ability to come back? Or, should they just say no more XJet people hired at CAL, since you are "tainted"? What goes around comes around...
