Has anyone else noticed that DrakeRemoray (the thread author) hasn't replied to this thread??? Flame Bait perhaps???
Maybe he collected all the IP addresses he needed.

Whether he is screwed or not will be determined by the forces that be.

I for one agree that he is because....say he gets through this and his paper work is corrected to be all legit and honest, somewhere down the road a CP will be trying to decide to hire him or one of the other 500 qualified people and if it were me, I'm going with the pilot with a clean record.
The mistake of youth sure, but a doozy. I've done some pretty stupid things in my day but the law doesn't say I have to tell my potential employer about those ones.

But what if you get your first DUI between now and then?

Hmmm

I dont know whats I should laugh more at.....he fact that I made an A on my Essay on Group Discussions or the fact that it took that long for you guys to figure it out. I was just gonna let it keep going. You know I wondered why I hardley ever get on this site and I think from all the stupid response now I know why.

started flying 3 years ago" (heavy on the "started") and now you are flying 135?

Sounds like Rich Kid who daddy paid for all his ratings and let you fly daddy's Baron so you could work for the regionals at age 23.

Now daddy can't get you out of this one, can he.....

Maybe you can be a receptionist at daddy's hospital.
You know satpak77 if you had a good attitude towards people you might have been able to progress in your aviation career as I did. But to kick a guy when he is possibly down, I guess is your thing. Hope it gets you were you want to be. And that goes for the rest of the guys who made the great one liners.....real class fellas. You know if this had actually happend to someone I think I would rather fly with someone who would admit to a mistake and try and rectify it. (And yes I know I put that I was gonna play dumb about the whole thing. But who would'nt want to get out of this the easiest way.) The sad thing is this could be a great site where a person with a problem could come in a get some help. But who wants to admit to anything if the majority of you guys just beat him into the ground. So have at it Fellas this is my last post. I would like to say I enjoyed it but that would be a lie. And God forbid I do that Lest yall get a group together to stone me. The End :(

While I agree that lying is not good and legs are.........we have all lied at some point and it is wrong to crucify someone because they made a mistake. Aviation should be a close knit group but I guess its like any other backstabbing office profession and that sucks.

Except that there are far fewer pilots than office workers. You have a CHANCE to communicate. Communication is the solution to almost any organizational problem.

Yeah....it just makes me ill that everyone wants to jump on someone with both feet because they screwed up instead of helping them out.

Saints, sinners and airline hiring

20 years old, got a DUI in college in 1998. Arrested, finger printed, did not do breath and LIC was automatically suspended for 90 days. Started flying 3 years ago and thought that it was off my driving record. Got my medicals and always checked NO under have you ever been convicted or had LIC suspended . . . . . So now I am applying with regionals. I am going to be totally honest and give them the truth about all tickets and the arrest. Its been 6 and 1/2 years since the arrest so I am hoping that will help. The thing I am worried about now is the fact that I have checked NO on my medical . . . . Also is this going to effect me getting into the majors having a DUI . . . .
I haven't read every response in detail, so mine may be redundant. In any event, despite opinion to the contrary, all airlines are looking for saints to hire and there are plenty of saints available. No matter how well-qualified you might be and no matter how many good internal LORs you might offer, if an airline has a choice between you and a saint, it will always take the easy way out and hire the saint. It is far easier (read that to mean less effort and brain damage) for an airline to hire a "perfect" applicant than to try to qualify a less-perfect applicant who might bring other qualities to the table. It sucks, but it is reality.

A DUI might be excused if one is totally stand-up about it. However, your failure to be completely forthright throws your credibility into question, and, in your case, perhaps rightfully so. No matter what pains you might go through to rehabilitate your reputation, the damage has been done.

You are still young. If I were you, I would do whatever is necessary to clean up your records, put it all behind you and move on to something else. Consider it a lesson learned. It's ironic; it's far easier to be hired into professions where you can make more money and be more successful than to be hired as a pilot.
