Jenkins BBQ, Fort Lauderdale. Cannot avoid smell or avoid sight of chimney smoke when driving past it , on Federal Hwy.

!@#!@#

I sit at my cubicle, waiting for a phone call so I can leave. (My fiancee is in training for her new job until 9, so I'm solo). She made me a large salad before she left, since I tipped the scales at 25lbs overweight =(

Yeah, so, I figure "hey... let's read flightforums!" before I leave. And I came across this thread.

Yeah, so, the salad is in the fridge, and I just finished a duo platter (4 ribs and a little less than a 1/3rd of a chicken), with grits, potato salad, corn bread, and sweet tea. For this Yankee city, the BBQ was pretty dang good.

When Jessie comes home, I'm blaming you guys and giving her the URL for this place.... ;-)

Cheers,

-Andrew

I wish i could spell briscut

By far the best bbq that i have had was at Rudy's in San Antonio. The briscuit no briscut... ah whatever the beef, turkey, and chicken are awsome!!! However Romas aint all that, once resturants become a chain they loose their mistique. I realize Rudy's has several locations, but nothing on the scale of Romas.
As far as fly-in resturants in TX there is the place on the field at HDO. Then there is some little airport west of Alliance, is that still there? Also there was a pretty good hamburger joint in Tyler but I heard it closed. Also in ASG there is a pretty good diner in the FBO upstairs.
How about the free Otis Spunkmeyer cookies at most the FBO's, you cant eat just 10.
Keep it coming this is great.

I just remembered one of the best BBQ experiences I ever had. Surprisingly, it was west of the Mississippi.

Latimer's BBQ, Tulsa

Smoky, run down little joint near the airport at 1529 E Apache St. When you're driving there, you'll wonder why the hell you're in that area. But as your leaving with your belly full and your clothes smelling like you laid on the pit yourself, you'll be glad you ventured there.

YES! BBQ talk again. This board was getting too serious... :D

This coming September, a bunch of hot college girls in bikini's are going to be washing airplanes at AUS. Come on down! I'll be catering BBQ too (at Falcon Capt's request!)!
