Received a letter from SMO stating that as of April 24th Category C & D aircraft will no longer be allowed to land at SMO. Its a City letter not an FAA notice.
Santa Monica has been trying to squeeze aviation out and take the land for years. The FAA has put their foot down, based on SMO's acceptance of public funds for airport upkeep.
I was at FSI a couple of years ago, in a recurrent with an inspector who was involved in the ongoing problems with SMO. He had a lot to say on the subject.
