Forget the fact that CAL is retiring 2444 Captains over the next 10 years and they only have roughly 4000 total pilots, sure he made a great decision. Vision folks, it's not where you are right now, it's where you end up at age 60 that counts. This guy, if young enough, could have potentially been a 777 Captain before he retired.
Of course their could have been other circumstances regarding his decision so while it isnt the right decision for me, it was the right decision for him.
