The regionals are facing a crisis with over 50% of published schedules in bid packets containing reduced rest overnights and almost 100% containing circadian rhythm shifts. So you could get in to the overnight and have plenty of down time for an early morning departure that you show up fatiqued for because you have been flying PM for the previous 3 nights and you couldn't get to sleep. Add to this years of these schedules and it really screws you up. There are consequences for calling in fatigued at most carriers...

Concentrate a little more on good ol' Delta and stop slamming JB and maybe I and everyone else would be a little nicer to you.
Your post was just another attempt at bashing.
I'll place it in the bucket with the rest of your like postings.
Poor boy…………..

You can slam Delta all you want. I will debate you on those issues happily. I just don't like a couple things about JB, but the pilot group as a whole is great, and I have never had a problem with any of them personally. You need to look yourself in the mirror and say "I don't have to be a tool, I can respond in a nice fashion, and I can debate the issues....REPEAT..."

And, I am not a poor boy. I also don't live in Yonkers or Ozone Park, thank gawd.

Keep up the fight all you B6 guys. The legacies have always hated competition because they are unable to compete. B6 is a breath of fresh air.
I sincerely hope B6 starts challenging the legacies on International Turf as well.

May the best man win.

Acne on Belly,

Are you really a stew? Also, we can compete now because we have reduced our CASM and increased the RASM. We are starting to do better, whereas JB now is paying more and more each year for equipment (like paying for MX), and higher salaries due to longevity. You should know this. Each year will get more and more expensive than the previous one for JB. We unfortunatly had to go through BK to lower our costs, but that is business, and JB is learning about it too, with slowing deliveries, selling A320s, etc. May the best man win indeed.

Would I make this up? No, I actually have a buddy on the A320 who told me all about this. Sorry you feel so ashamed that you have to slam me for your companies' internal sleep study. And, put me on ignore if you don't like what I print. You used to respect me, eh? And you don't now becuase I brought up something about your company? That is too bad.

Bye Bye--General Lee
Glad you have a buddy! Here are some facts for you, that I actually have told you before, but I guess I have to do it again;
1, transcon turns were for daytime flying only, no plans to do them on the back side of the clock
2, It was only a study, done using supplemental rules, no breaking of the FARs as you and your "buddy" may suggest.
3, Jetblue had authorization from the local FAA office, you know, the one that we had always worked with up to that point. It was only later that the central office decided that something was wrong, a bit of a bait and switch, don't you think?
4, Most JB pilots, myself included, don't like the idea.

Keep in mind that I have NEVER bashed Delta or Delta pilots in the name of professionalism and good taste. Were all in this together, right? But I can't allow uninformed people to come on here and start saying crap they know nothing about. Once you have accurate info, then bash away! By the way, my info comes from the director of flights standards and the fleet manager.

Hey Venereal Lee --

What don't you get about the fact that FLYING on Delta SUCKS. Once you comprehend that and attempt to improve -- then come back and we'll have an intelligent debate.

Now go do the Walkaround.

Now go do the Walkaround.

Whoa -- you're real intelligent. You read somewhere about some name calling by some jackass and so that must be the truth -- I must be an FA.

Now concentrate on the flying. Maybe the I'll use the toilet and you might get some command time -- or at least that's what you'd think of it anyway.

A point that hasn't been mentioned is that if you call in fatigued at most airlines you also DO NOT get paid. So, let me see....I'm exhausted, probably should call in fatigued, it'll cost me money, and I'm gonna catch a load of crap from some douchbag that hasn't flown a line in 10 years. ******************** it. It's only one more leg. I'll suck it up.

What fatigue problem? Our research shows that pilots hardly ever say they are fatigued, so they must not be fatigued, right?

So grieve it through the union, DOL. You showed up ready to work, you can easily show that the company placed you in a position that fatigue would occur, and per FAA you are required to pull yourself as not ready to fly, hence, it's the companies fault, or weather, or mechanical, or whatever. If you show up ready to work, and the company makes it so you cannot, you get paid, and the DOL will back you on that.

How are you going to grieve it when the contract and/or company policy clearly states that you won't get paid?

The point remains there is a lot of external pressure to continue flying when you are fatigued. I know what the textbook answer is: call in fatigued, but every pilot I know has flown fatigued, including me and you. Until the industry gets rid of the punitive aspect of calling in fatigued nothing is going to change. Unfortunately only a giant ball flame with a big body count directly associated with crew rest will change anything. Obviously no one wants that to happen.

.

Grieve it to change it. If pilots are not calling in fatigued because they want to be paid, and this is dangerous which is proven by studies, then it is in the best interest of the company to pay when fatigued. You point out clearly the outcome of the opposite, the company should want to avoid that.

Atleast we know the Jetblue pilots never sleep on the job. That is why they, and only they, should be allowed to do transcon turns....Hey, the senior guys want it. Think about it, only 8 days of work a month! And they are always plenty rested............

Bye Bye--General Lee
Congratulations General Lee, Only one post before you jumped on jetBlue again, as usual....what a piece of work you are....

Going to the media, albeit might make you feel better, solves nothing. It only conveys to the general public their already slight unrest or suspicions of airline pilots being safe. The drinking is one thing, now they have a second front.

Scaring passengers is not a way to sell seats, selling seats keeps our industry going.

Right your congressman
Right your Senator
Right the Safety division of the FAA
Document your actual rest time, send that with the letters.

For the most part, all this did was scare a bunch of people as they watched the 10 o'clock news. They are not going to call any representatives or sanctioning bodies and work on this problem for you.

i fully disagree. it sheds light on unsafe scheduling practices and pressure on pilots to maintain completion factor - which is the most critical thing to most feeder airlines.

besides...i already left my Senator, left my Congressman and left the FAA
