I realize they are non-union but does Skywest have any sort of commuter clause?

Thanks.

Pretty much everone I know here that commutes by air has not made their trip at one time or another. Crew support isn't happy about it, but they seem to work with people to cover the trip until you can meet it somewhere. I havn't heard of anyone getting a call from the CP unless their missing a lot of trips. Scott

Yes the policy is make sure you dont miss your commute during your first year.

...and you are the focal point of all communication between CPs and 2000 pilots?

Why does it matter if you have been at SkyWest for 6 months or 5 years. Neather pilot have a contract covering any kind of working condition.

On the Skywest application, it asks if you are willing to be based anywhere in the system and if you sign it "yes" it's your own fault. Having to not live at your base is YOUR choice, not Skywest's. It's not like we only have one base in one crappy city, we have thirteen bases to choose from. I'm a commuter and I don't want a weak commuter clause taking up room at the negotiating table.

Please take some professional responsibility and show up on time. It's really not that hard.

I wasn't a commuter until my airline closed 2 bases on me in a year. After arriving at base #3, I am appreciative of a good commuter clause.

Except when you are EWR or ORD based.

What table is that again? The same one that hasn't seen heard or witnessed a work rule improvement since 1995. What did the pilot group receive in exchange for not having a commuter (family life protection) policy?

Our daily guarantee (3:45)?

10 days off and instead of 9?

I don't know, since you do please educate the World Wide Web for me? It must of been huge or you wouldn’t be quoting the same application verbiage that every single other pilot employment application contains (are you willing to relocate).

Is this the same as bidding weekends off and then being JR on a weekend? But, hey dumb a$$ the freaking application that you signed said you are willing to work weekends and holidays. Your fault.

If you don't want a commuter policy then cool. Others do. Which 'major carrier' doesn't have family life protection policy?

Oh yep I forgot the ever popular BS: “no one has ever gotten in trouble before, that I know of’. Disciplinary actions are private matters which are not CC (carbon copied) to SAPA or to whatever that other guy name is.

SkyWest pilots are the smartest pilots in the whole universe. All you other som'itchs are dum a$$es. Just show up to work on time…I do

All I'm saying is what would you rather have.

A commuter clause
or
10-10- and a 3.5 trip rig

In 7 years I have never needed a commuter clause, but I'm rabid about a trip rig.

I don't see it as one or the other.

I'm tired of settling for 3rd or 4th from the bottom and with statements such as the quote above its no wonder.

Splert

I guess you think we should only work on Thursdays and have it commutable on both ends because it would make us the top of the industry and we deserve it.

Yes every Thursday

how far do you want to go?

How about "highest paid to the last day" also.

Yep that's what I think. What a joke...

I would like to see a steady increase in the QOL of flight crews at SkyWest. I point out that we haven't had 1 QOL work rule improvement in 10 years. Then you jump to that I'm suggesting I want "highest pay to the last day". Like I said before it's no wonder that we have the worst agreement of any soon to be 'major airline'. Nice job.

A commuter protection policy is a QOL work rule that almost every other major carrier has, except the smartest pilot group in the world who hasn't had 1 work rule improvement in a decade. But we don't want to give up something of value in return.

I see you later sometime maybe at Denny's. I be the guy NOT wearing my pilot uniform.

Oh by the way my mommy is prettier than your mommy. Know go home the street lights are on.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
