I am just starting reserve on the Bro in FAT. Can anyone tell me a few things. What does it do for me if I ask for call first? Early release? And can a reserve guy pick up dropped trips? Thanks. This is all way to new and complicated.

When you put yourself "call first" all that means is that it moves you up to the top of your "bucket". So you will be the first one called if they need a trip covered if no one senior to you has also put call first.

Early release is just as it sounds. If they have enough reserves in your bucket (which is never), then you can be released early. Again, this option is based on seniority also, so if someone to you senior has asked to be released early then they will be released before you.

You can only pick up trips on your days off and if you are legal to fly them. This is a great way to make some extra money because any flying you do on your days off is paid up and above your 80 hour guarantee (I think it's 80 hours for the Bro). Hope this helps.

What the last guy said and...

guarantee is 75 hours.....if you call them up and re-arrange your days off, you can pick up enough trips to make about 100 hrs credit a month, if they're not calling you too much...I did that and worked about 10 days a month when I was on reserve.......as far as the early release, I found that they respond better when you call them up on the phone...the computer one didn't work for me..maybe someone else had better luck with that. If you need to be let off early, just give them a call, sometimes they will, sometimes they won't....

flyer7rm,

go to sapaforums.org to register and ask fellow SkyW pilots. You'll more responses there.

Or

ask a SAPA reserve committee chair...they know the rules best.
