Does anyone have the latest info on SkyWest?
I've heard the following:

1. No more EMB120 classes. Only CRJ here on out for new hires.
2. No paid during training. Have to complete IOE first.
3. Shared hotel room during training. Will only pay for 1/2. (which I like because you have no excuse to watch TV!!!)

Questions:

1. Are they still setting up interviews?
2. Is Camille Ence still the main contact for interviews?
3. What are the Junior basis for the CRJ?
4. What are the mins for getting the CRJ? (unpublished of course)
5. Upgrade to CA?
6. Can SW pilots commute on other airlines?
7. Are the pilots at SW as positive as they say they are? I have now 5 friends with them and they all can't say enough good things about SkyWest (one on the CRJ the others on the EMB). But, they did all leave Eagle, so that might explain a few things <snicker>
8. What are the current mins?
9. Does SW require 3000 TT before being able to upgrade to CA? (Current requirement for Eagle CA)
10. Is SW retiring the 120 any time soon? The reason I'm asking that is to see if there will be many Vacancys posted for the CRJ in the near future rather than getting new hires.
11. Finally, who represents the pilots of SW?

Thanks in advance to those that respond to my questions. I think most of us have these types of questions, but I haven't been able to find an exclusive SW Bullentin Board such that Eagle has (http://www.eaglelounge.com) .

Run a search on SkyWest and you'll get alot of the answers you're looking for. I'll give you my 2 cents if it helps though (I've been with SkyWest almost 3 years).

Still interviewing, still hiring into both airplanes, next EMB class isn't until April-May I believe. No pay during training until aircraft checkride is done, and shared hotel room unless you want to pay for half.

Not sure how much experience they want for newhies in the jet, but I had heard a while back at least 500 turbine. I think most newhires in the jet have had plenty more than that. SLC still the junior base but newhires have gone elsewhere. I think DEN will be growing alot as most of our RJ deliveries are for United this year. EMB will be around for a while.

Upgrade requires 2500 tt, 1000 in SkyWest type operation (multi-crewed 121) 1000 turbine, 1000 multi. EMB has gone very junior lately, RJ at about 3 years.

Jumpseat ageements with just about everbody, and free to low cost passes on Delta, United, Southwest, etc.

As far as representation, non-union in house association known as SAPA (SkyWest Airlines Pilot Assoc.). No dues, however no legal contract.
