rumor is that buddy passes will be good on Delta mainline in 2007. you heard it here!

I'm going to have to agree with Dave Benjamin re: taking a raise over having travel benefits. Non-revving truly was a BENEFIT. With the advent of frequent flyer programs and bargain basement airfares, it has become a CHORE and a liability.

I'll gladly forego buddy passes for an increase in hourly pay or medical coverage, but do you think the bean counters look at this "benefit" as having a monetary equivalent?

I ride the jumpseat, the family buys tickets...
eliminating the stress of standby travel is worth it.

I have heard rumors about buddy passes working on Delta in 2007, but who knows.

Do pilots have to pay the 50.00 PPR annual activation for delta privildges for our family?

Yeah everybody has to pay the $50 fee for their family for Delta perks.

Personally, I love my travel bennies and would not give them up for a buck and hour raise. This is one of the reasons why I fly for the airlines... is for the free travel for myself and my family. I've enjoyed traveling to many places for free. All it takes, like peole have already said, is doing some homework and have a back up plan.
