I know that ASA has been tying to get rid of those ATR's for a few years now, but I didn't think that they would loose them and Skywest would gain Q400's. Apparently it is in the works, too bad for ASA

That's news to us. Details?

Jerry was in my class a couple months ago and said DL and UA wants SkyWest to have Q-400's but neither are willing to commit long term (I think he said he would need a 17 year commitment) so no deal

Why would skywest want to do that? ASA's payrates are based on Turbo-Jet 50-59 Passenger Seats and Turbo-Prop 44-70 Passenger Seats, and those rates are lower than Skywest Airline's.

Because the Skywest P stains are just like Mesa and will fly rubber dog crap for nothing.

Not true. ASA has been trying to keep ATR's but few can see the logic of an airplane that carries 32% more revenue for 1/2 the fuel burn.

ATR has a nice fat order book for the old ATR and this is without having really changing the design much since the early 80's. Part of the reason ASA does not have more ATR's is that the airplanes are in such demand that they get bought up by other operators and there is not a glut of them on the market.

There are many RJ's on the market and about to be a bunch more if a pretty serious flap AD does not get some last minute changes before the FAA issues it. Imagine what alternate fuel figured at flaps 45 burn rates are going to do for the useful load of the airplane when weather requires the use of an alternate.... rumors are flaps have been getting stuck at 45 on missed approaches and the FAA is concerned that fuel might not be sufficient in the instance of a wx divert followed by flap failure.

Have you all heard of a hypochondriac, that's exactly what you are. You will debate the most impossible sh_it and give the most far fetched reasons to why its true.

Un fukin believable

PDT to buy ex ASA ATRs and use them to replace the -100s (2 dashs per new ATR)... you heard it here first.

I heard the ASA mgmt was going to throw in the entire ASA group for free with the purchase of the ATR-ras.

Wow, I guess you should be proud to be part of Skyworst. Hmm I think I'll just go puke. Wait, I think there is a p stain in the lav. Yes, it is a skywest p stain just laying there.

Delta and Wells Fargo are the registered owners of ASA's ATRs, not Skywest Inc.

That is an outstanding rumor. I love it. Like most outstanding rumors, however, it is 100% incorrect. Rumor may have it, but flight ops engineering and our POI know nothing of the sort. Believe me, I'd love nothing more than for this to be true, but if it is really the case then nobody in Skunk Works knows anything about it.

It's not just ASA guys that heard the rumor about the flaps. I got it out here on the west coast. Something about some rj's in canada having flap problems on the go-around. On a canada overnight I asked some jazz pilots about it and they said the same thing as fins. Heard it a few months ago, thought it was dead. Oh well, since I'm spreading rumors, Braniff is coming back, TWA will buy Pan Am, and Mark Air is starting Seattle to New York again....this time in the twin otter, not the 737. :)
Oh yeah, Mookie, if your out there, my golf game is now better than yours........miss Candy Lane said so!
