This is wath they says.....i went to the group interview in Utah like another 40 or so from all over the places, got there, met with 4 check-pilots + camille to hear that was only a career fair stuff, so no atp nor mech apt. tests....WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!
they asked sorry for the missprinting on the web and they don't know where the next interview will be (i called the corporate the day before to confirm since i don't have money to travel around, and they confirmed me the group int. in logan utah).
By the way i talked with the pilots and they are looking for CRJ drivers, classes for the Brasilia are scheduled til july (and they also are slowely dismissing them from the line to buy new CRJ)...they are looking for jet time and 2-3000 hrs. for crj pilots....so, think before you go to the next career-whatever fair.

Any other guy-gal attended in logan? any different feed back?

Unfortunately, you write like a 3rd grader.

In order to pass the SkyWest written, you have to read/write on at least a 5th grade level.

So don't sweat the career fair, they weren't going to hire you anyway. You shouldn't waste any money buying multi-time, you need to buy English classes.

I know the feeling my friend. There are other fish in the sea. Give Chautauqua a try. They seem to be expanding and they have several bases.

As for propjob27, I would not take advice on flying or grammar from him. This is a response he had to a gentleman asking about which choice he should make, AWA or ATA. As you can see he tells him to take ATA as his grammar is poor.

ATA.

Pay is substantially better.
Better work rules.
Lots of international flying on the 757 and L-1011.

Group interview in Logan? WTF? Skywest loves all those typical Mo-anti-union-just happy to be flying a jet guys fresh out of Utah State!

I called Camille on behalf of a friend interested in getting on with SkyWest. I asked her if it would be worthwhile for him to attend the career fair and she told me no.

Unlike the other postings on SkyWest.com, the info on Logan states:

Candidates interested in learning more about a Pilot position may attend the Career Fair listed below.

Wednesday March 2, 2005
Logan UT
Utah State University
USU Student Center
9:00AM - 3:00PM
**SkyWest pilot recruiters and an HR representative will be available to answer questions about SkyWest Airlines.

What part of this posting leads you to believe they would give a group interview or let applicants take tests?

You're expecting reading comprehension from a guy who's post included such gems as: "This is wath they says" and "they asked sorry for the missprinting on the web and they don't know where the next interview will be"

Last time I checked, sarcasm wasn't a type of help to people. I wish people would just let the grammar or the errors in spelling go and just try to answer the questions. Nobody is looking for an English lesson. They are looking for answers to help their aviation career. If you want to help people with their careers, answer the question. If not, then don't respond. If you want to correct grammatical and spelling errors, go teach English. As far as propjob is concerned, I would suggest going and giving someone a handjob instead of responding to a post the way you did. All zagno was looking for was some help.

I think he got some help with people letting him know how bad it looks to write like that. Imagine what his resume looks like. You think anyone's going to hire someone with that kind of grammar usage? Sure, people make mistakes when they are typing fast, but his post is a disaster. If he at least sounded like a legitimate candidate for a job he'd probably get some better advice.

Maybe English is his or her second or third language.

Also, for those of us who do work for SkyWest most internal memos read just like he wrote.

Hey Blue Side, there are some contradictory statements in there. Typographical errors and sloppy punctuation is one thing, needing an interpreter to understand what they guy was trying to say is something else entirely. If he's looking for help with his career, he needs to start by asking for it in a manner that is understandable to those able to give it. From the tone of his post, it doesn't appear that he wanted help at all. It sounded to me like he wanted to complain that he wasn't given an interview on the spot. Had he read and understood the published information regarding this event, he would have learned ahead of time that his expectations were unrealistic. Maybe he would have saved himself the expensive travel accomodations had he researched the matter more thoroughly. Perhaps, if people want help with their careers they may need to start by taking an english class. Your comments toward propjob were childish and inappropriate for a professional of any kind.

They're bad, but they're not that bad. As for the ESL issue, there are plenty of people (at SkyWest and on this board) for whom english is not a primary language that have no problem expressing themselves. You have to be able to read, write, and understand english to get a private certificate. This guy is, apparently  , asking for career advice while presenting a far from professional image.

I've been told that they can't get anybody to show up at the job fairs or whatever they call them. I think it's funny. Maybe a little pay during training would help. I heard that only six people showed up to one of them and three didn't have the minimum requirements.

From what I remember, the ones that Brad Holt wrote were that bad or worse.
