Just wondering if you all are being paid before or after the MLK holiday? ASA apparently f'd that up too and is paying us late. They are blaming it on the new bank they are using and I'm curious if it is the same one you all use.

I even called ASA's payroll department and asked when we were getting paid because of the holiday and they lied to me and said Monday. Bunch of morons.

No MLK day is not a paid holiday.

It's actually in our contract that if a holiday falls on a Sunday or a HOLIDAY, pay shall be issued on the immediately following business day.

Not sure if Monday is a holiday for the G/O people or not. If it's not, then it is a business day and we should have the funds. Perhaps another grievance is in order but not sure anything will come of it. Skywest Inc just makes more interest on the money they don't pay us, and one day is a chuck of change for Inc!

STRIKE ASA!

"I have a dream.....that one day I will be the only man to have a Federal holiday named after him, other than Jesus Christ. Where my children will not be judged by the color of their skin, but based solely on the opinion of whether or not they should get holiday pay on that day."

I'm sorry to break this to you, but this holiday is just not up there with Christmas, Thanksgiving or Independence Day. I figure when we starting getting holiday pay for Cinco de Mayo, then MLK Day will be next.

I think you missed the point of the original post... he wasn't wanting to get premium pay for working on a holiday.. he was asking about whether paychecks were received. They apparently didn't get theirs at ASA on Friday and so might not get them until Tuesday after the MLK holiday. The 7th and 22nd are paydays at Skywest so this holiday doesn't affect our payday. I'm not sure what the policy is over here at skywest if payday falls on a sunday. I've never really paid any attention because my wife takes care of the bookkeeping.
