I think the main reason Skywest is opening up pay negotiations is because of the unified ASA group that voted to strike. All of a sudden better offers are made to ASA, not great, but better. If Skywest management doesn't offer Skywest pilots at least the same package, the lights might come on in some of the Skywest pilot group. They may in fact see the value of having unity and some power to back it up, a union with a strike fund. This could cause the pilot group to move quickly and vote in a union. If they offer us the same package, they will likely keep the union off the property. Actually, the best thing that could happen is management offering us less than ASA.

I think they opened up so called "negotiations", because they knew they could count on our fabulous SAPOS reps to ask for less than less than 1/2 of last years inflation rate, let alone for the previous 51/2 years that we haven't had any cost of living increases...Or any increase in 401K match, or per diem, or retro pay for their stalled negotiations, etc., etc., etc.....Meanwhile SkyWest Inc. had the 20th highest operating profit of any airline WORLDWIDE(including freight)!!!

Yes I did. There weren't many members there, so maybe you can figure out who I am. I heard that there wasn't an offer made last week by management. That contradicts what two members of the negotiating committee said. They said there was an offer, but it wasn't acceptable because of pref. bidding. Sounds like someone isn't telling the truth.

That's BS and I'm calling you out. Either you're lying and you weren't really there, or you're a bigger wuss than I thought, because if you truly were there, why didn't you voice your concerns? Why didn't you question John Rice? There was no opposition. So what you're saying is you're just an internet tough guy who's afraid to confront anyone face to face? Miserable turd, go back to your little GO cubicle.

You think? Brian told Jerry ASA negotiations were in the bag after their first supposal, and Jerry put the wheels in motion to top ASA's deal to keep ALPA off the property. Then Brian let him down when the deal fell through, but there was no going back. Then the SAPA deal became public. Oops. The ASA pilots found out and demended at least what SAPA was offered/asked for (really the same, since SAPA IS management). Now ASA has been forced back to the table. I'd say the SAPA deal was pretty productive.

Thanks for the leak, guys.

Perhaps someone could explain what you think is so great about this offer? The 12-13 days off is nice, as is the long call and 4:10 min day, but 2% COLA raises? You do realize that inflation is expected to average 4% for the next few years, right? That means you would basically take a 2% paycut every year. You guys turned down 1.2% pay raises overwhelmingly, but now 0.8% more gets everyone excited? What am I missing here?

well, let's see. to begin with, the 1.2% was a 'hard' number (meaning, not a COLA, but a simple one-time raise). It's not necessarily great, but it's a whole lot better. I'm not endorsing it for a number of other reasons, but whereas the last proposal was INSULTING, this one is not.

my .2c

I was there. The reason I didn't voice my opinion there or on the ALPA boards is because you hardliners personally attack anyone who disagrees with ALPA. Looks like ALPA has turned down a descent offer and we will remain parked. Skywest will transfer aircraft, and tough guys like you will just sit there and say "full pay to the last day". Great strategy ALPA!

I think the first post got yanked and this individual decided to sterilize and repost it. Thanks a lot for the negotiating help. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to lend a hand to the ASA negotiations, too. (Expletive withheld...)

you have done enough a$$hole

That's a cop out. So you're saying you're intimidated to speak out at a meeting? What'r they gonna do, beat you up? Please. You are a total waste of skin. I think we've heard enough out of you Mr Internet Tough Guy. Until you grow the balls to speak out at a meeting, I think everything you say should be shaded in that context.
