Can anyone tell me what goes on at a SW open house, basically is a info about the Co. and hiring needs Etc. like an Air Inc. Career Fair, or are they there to Interview and test people right there.

SkyWest Group Interviews

If you go to the actual SkyWest Open House, it is an actual mini-interview. They will give a presentation about the company, collect resumes, and give a short one-on-one interview (if you have competitive experience). From this process, they will decide if they want to invite you to SLC for the full interview. It is not bad, since they will complete a part of the interview process at the open house, you probably will not have to repeat that part again at the SLC interview. That makes interview day a little shorter and less stressful.

Good Luck!

I went to the one at LAX a couple months ago. If they're interested in you, you will get the written, mechanical, and interview out of the way. If things go well you will be invited to SLC where you will only have to do the sim and CRM situation.

Hey Viper,

Are there any wt and Balance questions on the one you took?
Thanks
No weight and balance either. On the Mech apt. test there was one that went something like: An EMB-120 leaves LAX at 240KTS, a CRJ Leaves 2 hrs later at 480 kts, how many hours after the RJ departs will it catch the EMB-120?

I didn't have a calculator and did fine

hey viper,

Do you remember about how many people showed up at LAX openhouse?

I went to the AM session. About 70 people showed, and 20-25 got interviewed that day. Some of the people that got sent home were later called in to SLC to interview.

I believe each open house is a bit different from the other. I went to SFO for one a couple months back and everyone took the written tests (atp, mech. apt.). While we were doing that they reviewed logbooks. At which time everyone was invited in for a one on one interview (tech). If you did good up to this point you were invited to SLC for the remainder. I read many threads here prior to going and noticed there was a different experience from each city they were in.Once again there are no "refer to figure" questions on the ATP.
Good Luck!!
