Is it worth my while to shoot in a resume with 1150/150? I know I meet the mins, but without someone walking it in, it doesn't sound like they will even glance at you? Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. 1500 and 1200 but I don't know anyone at Skywest. Is there even a chance they'd look at me with that kind of time?

Are you serious??

What is all this "do you think they will even look at me talk?" So what, if someone says no they are not, your not going to send your stuff in? You meet the mins right? That means your qualified for the job, if you weren't they would raise the mins. Filling out that on-line app takes a few mins of your time, it's not going to hurt anything. In this enviroment you have to be just a little bit more aggressive than you sound, I'm not trying to rag on you guys or anything, I'm just trying to get you guys fired up.......it's pretty wicked out there right now, kick it up a notch!! Good luck!

These posts prompted a bit of curiosity in me so I did some checking into the statistics and here is what I found.

Among those people who met SkyWest minimums but did not apply, we interviewed 0%. The rates were significantly higher for those that did apply.

I know I'm sending a resume in to them (Skywest), and I had planned on it before. I realize there's no harm in taking a chance. I was just trying to get a feel for how realisitic it is to expect a call from them without any LOR. Thanks for the responses.

Meeting mins..

As Andy said.. without applying you definitely don't get hired. As for being competetive, in the current newhire groundschool we have one pilot in the 5k+ range and 2 under 1200 hrs.. a couple former 737 pilots and a few with only instructing experience so it takes all sorts..
Current rumor is that we will be hiring a class a month the rest of the year.. find a friend at skywest and get that app in. Took me 3 years of pestering Andy to get here.. :)
Good luck all,
Philip
