Are any of the new hire classes going to the RJ?

How hard would it be to get DEN or COS for a base?

Thanks,

Check Six

I would say 6-8 months for DEN also, unless hiring and movement picks up. Also with Brasilla transitions, a lot of them go to DEN.

Next RJ new hire class is July 14th. DEN in a few months COS 6-8 months.

I have been in the pool since early Feb. and getting a little restless being unemployed for the last 2 months.

Where did you get this info about the RJ new hire class? Just wondering how sure that is if anything can be sure at this point.

Thanks

I'm here and the Candlehood for recurrent and was told by the hotel that the next class is starting June 23rd. She said it was an RJ class with 30 in it.

I would guess mostly EMB transitions and upgrades?
Whats up G, you got SMF YET! Living the reserve dream still? Fun!

The Class award just came out for the July 21st CRJ class. It said it had 16 newhires in it. That Would make the indoc class start on the 14th. I say it in the Chief pilots office as he was posting it up in the crew room.

I thought 6/30 was the next newhire/upgrade class? so said my FO the other day

I interviewed yesterday and the white board at the front of the conference room had some Brasilia dates listed:

6/2 class of 20
7/7 class of 20, and
8/4 class of 20

Hard to believe we are going to start (or continue) hiring. Seems like we are so fat on pilots right now its not even funny

No doubt...first time in 5 years I've called C.S. and had them offer me time off with or without pay, "which one do you want to do?".

Crazy.

Den is super-junior right now, the most junior FO has a company seniority of 97% and only 40 RJ Fo’s junior to them. SLC is more junior than DEN right now. DEN reserve is pushing about 1 year though with the bottom 31% of the seniority list on reserve June. If you get the CRJ, I’d guess 3 months or less to get DEN.

COS is a small base and more senior than the mega-bases (IE SLC/DEN/ORD).
The most junior CRJ FO in COS has a company seniority of 93%. It might take 6 months-8 months to get into COS. COS reserve list is at about 15%.

They didn’t give me a choice on equipment when I was hired, and we have been largely hiring into the EMB, so it might be hard to get an initial jet class. You’d be able to transition to the CRJ after 1 year with the company if you get the EMB.

Hope this helps,
Jeb

Couldn't it be more along the lines that we were always understaffed trying to play catch up in the past. I've heard numerous theories but one is that we ARE at correct staffing for the amount/type of flying we do.

They are getting a EMB145 program ready. They need to staff up the E120 and RJ to take the hit when people go to the E145.. My guess..

Aaaah c'mon. What's the rush to get into the jet anyway? Fly the Brasilia (Bro) around SoCal for awhile - that would be fun in my book. The Bro is so over-engineered that getting some experience in it would make flying the CRJ easy.

Get some Bro time and buy some nice shades for flying around SoCal...

Jeb you are correct about 1 thing, IF you do choose DEN or get it you WILL be on reserve quite some time... 1 year and counting for me. Thats if nothing changes as we all know can happen any time , but its definately getting old. Good Luck!

Yeah, I recommend that anyone do a year in the brasilia before going to the jet. The Brasilia will teach you a lot more about hands on flying and making things work than the jet will. It can get fatiguing, but it's a lot of fun too. ATC expects a lot of flexibility from the Brasilias.
