Aaaah c'mon. What's the rush to get into the jet anyway? Fly the Brasilia (Bro) around SoCal for awhile - that would be fun in my book. The Bro is so over-engineered that getting some experience in it would make flying the CRJ easy.

Den is super-junior right now, the most junior FO has a company seniority of 97% and only 40 RJ Fo’s junior to them. SLC is more junior than DEN right now. DEN reserve is pushing about 1 year though with the bottom 31% of the seniority list on reserve June. If you get the CRJ, I’d guess 3 months or less to get DEN.

COS is a small base and more senior than the mega-bases (IE SLC/DEN/ORD).
The most junior CRJ FO in COS has a company seniority of 93%. It might take 6 months-8 months to get into COS. COS reserve list is at about 15%.

They didn’t give me a choice on equipment when I was hired, and we have been largely hiring into the EMB, so it might be hard to get an initial jet class. You’d be able to transition to the CRJ after 1 year with the company if you get the EMB.

Jeb you are correct about 1 thing, IF you do choose DEN or get it you WILL be on reserve quite some time... 1 year and counting for me. Thats if nothing changes as we all know can happen any time , but its definately getting old. Good Luck!

Yeah, I recommend that anyone do a year in the brasilia before going to the jet. The Brasilia will teach you a lot more about hands on flying and making things work than the jet will. It can get fatiguing, but it's a lot of fun too. ATC expects a lot of flexibility from the Brasilias.

Saying SLC is junior is right meaning you might get awarded it but they have over 75 people on reserve. I've been here year and a half and barely hold the last line. I know people that haven't flown in over 50 days. It's a good deal if you live there, but if you're trying to commute don't do it.

We seem to be short/fat depending on domicile. MKE has red arrows every day starting at 8:59pm CST on the 24th of every month. They are TDYing DEN CA to MKE to cover our shortcoming. Yet, DEN is well overstaffed. If we balanced the two out, we might actually be looking at a perfectly staffed situation. Just my opinion.

I don't think they'll be balanced out because Midwest isn't doing so well. I'd be surprised if they are around in a year if gas stays as high is it is now.

Oh yeah!! Flying the Bro is an absolute blast. I'm so glad I got the Bro in training (I guess it didn't hurt that I asked for it . On top of that, I've held a line every month--I've never been on reserve.

And I can't drop trips either! Yesterday was a 7 leg day, and I was the only crew member that couldn't drop the last few legs. Dang red arrows!!

Oh yeah, and I've heard the same about the CRJ class. There's several guys and gals ahead of me on the seniority list going to that class, so bidding should be a whole lot easier. I'm like go! Go!
