What we know is what we go by. Skywest pilots know how their company operates, I believe most think they are causing no harm outside of their company. They are happy, they get paid, they upgrade and if they want to move on they can if they want to stay they can. They are on the inside and do not have the same perspective as other people in the industry have.

They are providing a product and get compensated. What happens though is that precedents get established and Skywest pilots do not understand they are contributing to precedents. They can say it is management not us. They can say leave us alone, you all have a problem we don't.

I am not forecasting that Skywest is going to have the sword turned on them. History is a better indicator of that. History has shown the rise and fall of many airlines before Skywest. Precedents though are hard to reverse, as witnessed with the struggle other carriers are having in competing with the precedents that Skywest and others have set that are being competed with in an open market.

The reason pilots are negative towards Skywest is that when sitting down at the kitchen table paying their bills and planning their future, Skywest is contributing to their future. Working at Skywest is not working in a vacuum. You may not want to take responsibility for precedents that you help set. I do not wish anyone to fall on their sword. If the program is broken at ALPA do not jump over to please others. Make good decisions though for the good of not only your job, but the profession. You see decisions that you make have long term affects on you and your brother. One day you might be that brother on the other side too.

Is Ohplease the only person here who reads in-context? It's no wonder education in America is failing to produce critical thinkers, if evidenced by the lack of comprehension and logic so often demonstrated here. For all the others, next time try to read for the meaning, instead of looking for keywords. I think you'll find your day might go a lot smoother, and you might get a little more allegiance and credibility than your otherwise minimal response quality may suggest.

Hahahaha.

Gotcha!
