However, they can be misapplied, just as a 757 can be. It wouldn't make sense to run a 757 into Little Rock--even once a day.

Kind of like when they put 757's on ATL to SAV and used the 727 on ATL to PDX with a fuel stop?

[ Why have 6 RJs flights a day competing with Airtran 717s, when you can pull in some already paid for DC9s and give pax something they all want, a little SPACE? Three Dc9s a day vs 6 money losing RJs. Your RJs clog the airways, the ramps, and don't bring in enough revenue---

Well, no. It's been proven repeatedly that passengers specific dates of travel, price, and departure times, in that order. It's naive to think otherwise. This is true regardless of what kind of airplane, and what paint scheme, is chosen for a given route.

However, I don't think that there is any guarantee that RJs flown by mainline pilots would be any more expensive, at least in the short run.

Negotiate a cut rate for the lil' jets to make management happy, thereby creating an inhouse buffer for the widebody (in aircraft and physique) senior guys to ward off furlough, and voila' everyone is happy. Except, of course, the guys who were once employed by the regional 'partners.'

The real answer is to open up all domestic flying to foreign carriers. That would silence the General.

Crap! When did the General find his way back to the regional board??? He really must bhe bored, after working, homelife, and perusing the majors board, he still has time to come over here and zing us barbie jet driving, ramp congesting, airspace clogging Regional guys!

Said it before.....Douchb@g!

Yeah McFry, that sure would be bad for all of us, being PAID more. Management can see that RJs are a cancer, and mainline jets are the way to go. Why have 6 RJs flights a day competing with Airtran 717s, when you can pull in some already paid for DC9s and give pax something they all want, a little SPACE? Three Dc9s a day vs 6 money losing RJs. Your RJs clog the airways, the ramps, and don't bring in enough revenue---actually costing Delta more money in bad times because of the ridiculous contracts that were signed. They need to go bye bye, and if you don't perform---you go away too. The good thing is we have a lot of you guys to choose from.

Speaking of which, you need to go back to your third job at McRonalds and keep working on finding the "perfect french fry."

Perhaps you and the rest of your gray top, double-breasted Wunderkins can jump in your WayBack machine and un-screw us all. Then we can fly all these 75-100 seat jets at the bottom of a major scale. That would be great. MmmmmmK? Thanks.

OH BS. WRONG. Every Business traveler out there (who actually pays the bills at any airline) growns everytime he/she sees an RJ. Now I guess an RJ is better than a prop, but that's about it. And we have an inhouse lil' jet operation, called Compass. It provides adequate protection, along with an airplane that should have only been mainline (Like at Air Canada).

Un-screw you all? Like after 9-11 when Comair wouldn't help our pilots without extra 70 seaters going their way? Riiiight. Some of you RJ operators were nice, and a lot were not. In the meantime, RJs have gotten way too expensive in bad times, and a lot need to go away as capacity shrinks. Sound like a plan? MmmmmmmK?

Yeah, right, that's gonna happen. Look at Virgin America and how much scrutiny they are getting as they lost their two main US investors. Alaska Airlines is going after them like a hawk, and the DoT will have an investigation to see if Branson owns more than the allotted amount allowed by law. Not lookin good. And, McCain was in favor of what you were talking about, but Obama is NOT. Maybe you can wait 4 more years to see if that will happen....

When was SkyWest the most profitable? When we were tanking. That is because of contracts written when we were struggling in BK. Guess what? That has to change now. Time to pay the piper.
