Wondering if anyone has any idea of the seniority dates to hold LAX reserve as an RJ FO and both CA and FO on the Bro. Also, anyone out there that can chime in on the reserve schedules -hard days off, call out time, etc. and do you usually beat the guarantee? Also, how many hours flown a year roughly?
Thanks!

I can't speak for LAX but, I spent the past two months on reserve in FAT and I barely flew...maybe 30 hours per month. We usually had on average 4-6 guys in the crash pad during the day and they usually flew around 30 hours per month as well. Some less, some more. I had a few days where I deadhead to LAX sit ready reserve all afternoon then fly the leg back to FAT. I am on the bro and they really don't seem to have a lot of open time as compared to the jet. My reserve lines gave me like 11 days off with a 90 minute call out time (20 min if you are on ready reserve). I usually had a trip pop up on my schedule a few days in advance and the only times they called me up with a trip, they would call back 10 min later to tell me nevermind. Happened 3 times. But, I hold a line now so life is good. I can't really complain since I was on reserve only 2 months.

Come work for ASA, you'll be able to hold it out of newhire class, probably even hold a line there before too long.

Of course, 12 months later the base will close if history is any guide, but it will be nice while it lasted.

both FO seats are fairly junior.....CA not so much.

10 or 11 days off a month minimum (based on 30 or 31 day month)

They'll use you if they need you....A year ago this time, I was based in LAX not working so much...I think the summer months pick up a little bit.

It's possible to pick up trips on your days off and it counts above guarantee. It's great if you're not working too much.......SAN, CLD and PSP are not too far of a drive.

90 minute call out on 12 hour reserve days. You're released after you finish whatever they assigned you. The only time I sat ready reserve was when they called me in for a couple of legs. The only way they could use me again was to throw me on ready reserve. I'm pretty sure no one gets called in the morning to sit ready reserve (I didn't).
