Just wondering if anyone has interviewed recently-anyone been called for an interview that went to the job fair in early March at Utah State? Just curious.
Thanks

I attended the Utah Job Fair and finally after a few emails, got a response for an interview around the middle of April. They have interview dates all through out the month of April. I do not know for what type of aircraft these are for.

didn't go to the job fair, but just got invited to the april interviews too.....I filled out my online app in January and sent a resume at the beginning of February....

Interview in May

I updated the online app in Feb and was invited for an interview in May. Never attended a job fair. They sent me an email with available dates to interview in May and I replied a few days later. I was impressed at how fast they replied back with a scheduled date. They responded by email within 15 minutes or so.

A buddy walked my paperwork in, interview is in May.

Good luck to all of you guys interviewing!

It's still the same process that it's been for quite awile. Fill out the online app and have your friends "walk in" your resume and cover letter. The interviews are still granted on a competitive basis so if you don't get the call/email (after you know that your stuff is in) you might not quite measure up at that moment in hiring, or... your stuff might be lost... Have your friends check with SGU about 1 month after you've put in your resume.

Oh ya, if you have 1000tt and you're still instructing in a single...get a freight job!

I know of 6 guys that have interviewed, 5 got hired, with 1000TT instructors in a single in the last 6 months or so........ all were interns. sharp guys i must say though!!

some guys on the interview team not to long ago told me that if you get an interview, you have just as good of a chance as the guy sitting next to you. most of the lower time guys are put into the bro, but still.....

Why are pilots continuing to apply/accept positions with SkyWest when they don't pay during training? It's wrong and needs to change. Would you take any other non-aviation job that didn't pay for the first 2 months or so while in training? Probably not.

Until you guys stop applying, Skywest will never change their policy. Stop getting so excited over flying a jet (it's a freakin' airplane) that you're willing to be UNPAID until completing OE, however long that takes...

Rant done...

eh...pilots are applying and accepting positions at SkyWest because they are a good company to work for. I recently interviewed with them and out of 7 of us, 5 were from other airlines........I suppose after being shat on by another company for a year or so, 2 months without pay doesn't seem so bad......

Wait till your senority is tossed in the toilet to satisify the needs of the company. 50/70 guys having their choices nullified, and assigned 70 lines for planes that the company knew were coming. Keep signing up for free work(ground school), you are right it's a great company, for the shareholders, as an employee it's not so great, but you will see after you start ground school and get hit with a uniform bill and have to buy Jepps. But don't worry it's only about $500.00, if you can work for free you can pony up an extra 500 bucks.
Been there for 5+ years, did not drink the kool-aid.

Cpt M,

I think SKYW still enjoys the reputation because up until 2 or 3 years ago it was a lot different than it is today.

Plus if the company hires guys that are willing to work for nothing they have a pretty good idea of how they'll vote on TA's and unions.
