Who has an industry leading contract right now? Who has a better contract than SkyWest that isn't shrinking or in danger of liquidation? I agree with you that SkyWest needs a better agreement, not to mention legal representation, but to paint SkyWest with same brush many use on Mesa is not only unfair, it makes you look ridiculous. Sadly, even at our 50-seat rates, SkyWest CRJ-700 pilots are still among the best compensated in the industry. Don't blame SkyWest pilots for that, blame the likes of Mesa and CHQ who allow our management to suggest that our current rates are fair in comparison to theirs. Aside from a decidedly poor TA that allowed the 70-seaters for 50-seat pay, SkyWest pilots have not taken a concession, or suffered a furlough since 9/11. Can your pilot group, whoever that is, say the same? Our situation is far from ideal, and we are working to improve it. Save your "why don't they stand up and fight" schoolyard insults for the regionals that deserve it.

ps your 737 comment is assinine. SkyWest already has rates in our agreement for aircraft larger than 99 seats. They are far from acceptable, but are also nowhere near our 50-seat rates. Why not do some research before you bash an entire pilot group?

But Bluto, every regional out there is just one month away from losing all their flying to someone else. I understan you had to say that in your statement otherwise the XJT contract is far better. Not only are the pay scales higher but QOL is better, plus the additional retirement/401K contribution. Had you stayed at XJT after the furloughs' recall you'd be in a decent spot right now. But as I recall, your a left coaster so I imagine you've enjoyed your time a bit more!

The comment however that Skywest hasn't taken concessions etc.....man, what about the 50 seat wages for 70 seat prices? And that was done like, what, 3 years ago? Before ANYONE else took a cut. Come on. You guys gotta get on the ball over there!

The argreement says nothing about SkyWest, Inc. having to use the SkyWest Airlines pilot senority list to fly them.

Darn it...Something tells me those rates are not set in stone.

Thanks for helping accumulate over a 1/2 billion is cash over that past 6-years.

Have a great day...

You're right about my coastal alignment. I definitely can't complain, I made my choice, and I'd probably do the same again. Keep in mind, when we were recalled your contract negotiations were near the end, but not yet complete. I agree you guys have a far superior agreement to what we have. If I lived in IAH, it would have been a no-brainer. However, I have to wonder if I would be in a decent spot right now. If those 69 airplanes do go away, I'm afraid I'd be down-graded, if I had even been able to upgrade in the first place. Please understand, I don't blame your superior contract for this, but I do have to look at the overall picture. From our management's perspective, they aren't highly motivated to match pay and work rules of a company whose pilot group is potentially shrinking (xjt) or taking concessions (cmr), and even if we could negotiate (don't get me started) it would be a difficult time for it, considering the status of the industry.

I also view our 70-rates as a concession, which is why I wrote, "Aside from a decidedly poor TA..., SkyWest pilots have not taken a concession..."

I still have friends there and wish you guys nothing but the best. Hopefully some of the other feed options out there will work out to your benefit.

Whatever
