Hello everyone! Finally got an interview with Skywest on the 23rd. I have all the good stuff from aviationinterviews.com, but most of those gouges are a little out of date. If anybody has interviewed recently our has some helpfull advice for my upcoming interview it would much appreciated. Thanks again for the help.

i'll be there with you on the 23rd. im having trouble finding recent gouge, but it seems they havent hired all that many in the past few months from what i can tell. i tried to schedule a sim prep with american aviation, but the 22nd is booked all day. other than this board and avitioninterviews.com, i dont know anywhere else to look.

sorry i couldnt be more help.

it sounds like skywest has a long hard interview process. that's probably how it should be though.

good luck.

Just curious when did you guys get called for the interview? Also if you do not mind posting your times for reference. I assume that you had your resumes walked in as well.

Thanks, just been trying to get an interview with Skywest for a long time......

Just curious--do the furloughed United guys have to do a sim? I thought they had to do a small interview, but do they take a test too?

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

Just got some good ;) info from someone in the know.

General-

UAL pilots still have to go through the whole interview process. And by the way, I have spoken to many of the UAL guys/gals lately and I am really impressed. Glad to have you guys around.

As far as the interview I heard that most are dorking the SIM portion. All I can say is study JEPP charts (legend) and know your procedures. Also, if you are told not to brief...don't friggin brief. Be yourself and relax.

Anyway, good luck to all!!

no, ual guys do not get interviewed. well at least a buddy of mine receive NO interview. he got the call, and was asked to show up for class. end of interview.

Weeelllll, the person I justed spoke with said that he personally interviewed 7 UAL pilots last week

I don't think they were since he told me he was surprised how poorly a couple did on the check. Maybe it changed - heck if I know  Good luck to everyone interviewing!!

Melbourne:

I interviewed and was hired last week. The Gouge on Aviationinterviews.com, though old is still very applicable. The best advice on there is to relax and be yourself, and say you don't know when you don't.

Good Luck.
They say they will be continuing hiring. There were no ual folks in my interview pool.

If you have over 1000 hours 121 you may not have to do the sim. I dont think that is a set in stone policy however. Good luck to all and send me a private message if you would like some info on the interview. I had it last week and go the nod yesterday!!!

Some 2004 hiring numbers just posted by the company:
245 new hires planned
46 for the CRJ
199 for the E120
7 E120 new hire classes (no dates mentioned)
CRJ new hires will be divide among 12 classes

Does the end of 2005 look as good? Thats when I'm getting back from AF flight training...

Who knows beyond then. Things look good right now and we are accepting 2.5 jets a month this year and 3 a month from Jan-May 05. Nothing firm after that.

There is a lot of stuff going on right now. Some of the possibliities are:

-ORD Base by this summer
-Delta 45 jet RFP
-more UEX when ACA goes Indi
-Possible 4th code share
-Merger/accuisition

The company is in a good financial position for more growth but they are conservative when it comes to taking opportunities.

Congrats to all the new Interviewees/Newhires!

congrats on the interview!

I interviewed last week, and unfortunately I pissed up the sim and didn't get the job. I passed the writtens and the tech prior to going to the sim. my fault, and I'll be kicking myself for a long time over it. It is the job I have always wanted. but, alas....

all the gouge is right on. know your plane VERY well, and don't mention anything you can't explain well (systems, weather, etc.)

scenario: you are the EMB CA, and a new FA is freaking about a door alignment mark not matching up, even though the door is closed-WWYD? she won't calm down, locks herself in the lav

scenario: your are the RJ CA, flight is full, and you depart the gate and end up waiting to de-ice forever, then wait again to depart, then have to redo the de-ice. 22 people are upset and want to get off the flight, want you to go back to the gate so they can make other plans-WWYD?

study hard, it's a long day with lots of waiting around.

I'll try again in 6 months, and I'm flying 121 now.

good luck

Would you mind giving details? I hear a lot of people bust the sim ride, but I never hear too much explaination other than VDP and PDP nailing a few...

I currently have 1300 TT and 150 Multi. I got called today for the interview. I do however work for SKYW as a ramper. BUT, and I say BUT, when they called me, they didn't know I was an employee! Weird! I did however have a captain make a personal recommendation which I say got me the interview without a doubt. They wanted to interview in less than a week, I told them no WAY! I need at least 3!. They settled for 2.5 :)

anyone of you skywester's know what the reserve time is like for the crj in den or slc? just a rough guess is fine with me. Will it be less than 6 months?
