Looks like Skywest has its last CRJ delivered in june. What do you think the future will hold with them. I know Delta is putting out more 70 seat jets and not sure what is going on with United? NWA is looking for someone maybe? So are you pretty confident SkyWest will be growing after this year? They have had some pretty good growth going the last 4-5 years. will they keep it going? Or will the upgrade start going up. thanks

I also heard they are 200 pilots short do to Delta and United changing there block hours for them.

There was just a massive bid awarded that filled upgrades and transitions through May. RJ Captain awards went down to 1300+ pilot number out of 1900+ pilots (Right around two years with the company).

We've been told the training and hiring depts are running at flank speed. RJ classes of 40 every three weeks. Newhire Brasilia classes to fill those openings thus created.

I know this company has been EXTREMELY conservative in the past when awarding upgrades, especially in the RJ since it would cost quite a bit to have a bunch of captains just sitting around the crash pad playing HALO.

I know of nothing specific, but they sure seem to be planning on some major continued growth in the near future...

I know Continental stopped using them out of Houston (IAH). Word on the street was they weren't providing a quality service for the price they demanded. Colgan will be taking over that flying soon.

THATS A BUNCH A BULLCRAP. THE BRO IS THE WRONG AIRPLANE FOR TX, ESPECIALLY THOSE POS COEX ONES. IF WE HAD A DIFFERENT A/C, SAY THE DASH, IT WOULDA BEEN KICKASS.BESIDES, IT WAS LESS THAN 1% OF TOTAL OO FLYING. COLGAN CAN HAVE IT.

Thanks! I am pretty confident in the SkyWest team. But just wanted to know what you all think. It sounds like they will continue to expand, atleast I hope. How many pilot airline could you see them growing to? 3000+ or under 3000.?

Do they have min's to upgrade?

Propsarebest,

You sound bitter. I like how you guys complain about the Brasilia's that you had to fly in IAH. You say you could have done better but they were POS's? I guess that was a great move on your management's part!

Guess what you are ignorant. Listen to Brad Rich by clicking the link above. He address why SkyWest and CO decided not to continue at the very beginning of the call.

Please don't tell me you are lazy too. Point > Click > sit back and listen and learn. That shouldn't be difficult.

Good Day

HEY DUMBASS, IF YOU WOULD OF GOTTEN THE FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE OPENING YOUR MOUTH, YOU WOULD OF KNOWN THAT THE 4 POS BRO'S I WAS REFERING TO ARE THE ONES THAT CO MADE US OPERATE, IT WAS PART OF THE CONTRACT. COEX COULDN'T MAKE ANY MONEY USING THEM IN TX, SO THEY THOUGHT WE COULD. WE PROVIDED A GOOD SERVICE TO CO, BUT WITH WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS DUE TO NEW PAX WEIGHTS, CRAPPY ALTERNATE CHOICES, AND SOMETIMES POOR SERVICE FROM THE GUYS AT ATC (REROUTES THAT DOUBLED FLYING TIME, ETC), IT WAS VERY HARD TO GET ANYTHING WORTHWHILE OUTTA THEM. I AM NOT BITTER, JUST PISSED OFF AT YOU AND YOUR SHORTSIDED COMMENTS, I'M GUESSING WE DIDN'T HIRE YOU WHEN YOU APPLIED. HAVE FUN IN YOUR TACO JET, I THINK ITS TIME FOR YOU TO PUT THE GEAR UP NOW.

Props,

Once again your management agreed to the contract. Continental didn't make SkyWest do anything. I think you're being short sighted. I'll enjoy my "Taco Jet" as you call and wave as I pass you by. With all your anger it sounds as if you have Jet envy. Who's the idiot?

UMMMM, I HAVE JET ENVY??? SORRY DUDE, YOUR BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE. I DON'T SWING LIKE THAT.

Well we must agree on Skywest managements lack of contracting ability since you seem to go to name calling. That's usually what people do when they don't have a strong argument. And by the way....SkyWest was never on my list of places to work. Something about a career Brasilia Ca didn't apeal to me.

I agree that management should of worked harder to keep the contract alive.

Flying a bro for life is fun, you should try it some time. It dosen;t really matter what equipment you fly, just as long as the quality of life is there. We have some super senior guys who choose to stay in the bro because QOL is important to them. Besides, it's kind of fun to fly into LAX 6 times a day in 3 different airplanes.
