FLIGHT ATTENDANT PROFESSIONAL CAREER GUIDE

• MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE - to any of our domiciles; Salt
Lake City, UT, Portland, OR, Chicago, IL, Tucson, AZ, Denver, CO,
Colorado Springs, Co, San Diego/Carlsbad, CA (co-domicile), San
Luis Obispo/Santa Maria, CA (co-domicile), Fresno, CA, Monterey,
CA, Palm Springs, CA, Sacramento, CA, Santa Barbara, CA, Los
Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA. It is difficult to commute while
you are on reserve so it is highly recommended that you relocate
to the city you are based.
• High School Diploma or GED. Stable employment history as well
as a completed application with detailed 5-year background
submitted to skywest.com.
• Must be at least 21 years of age at time of interview. We
have no age limit!
• Due to the internal size of our aircraft, height must be
between 5'0 and 5'8, without shoes. For your safety, there are no
exceptions to this requirement.
• Vision not to exceed 20/40 corrected.
• You may be the only Flight Attendant on the aircraft, which
requires excellent decision making skills, confidence and
positive attitude. Customer service experience and/or college
courses or degree. Good communication skills and the ability to
deliver the onboard announcements in a professional and polished
manner. Responsible for providing leadership and direction and
assisting in the performance of all safety, passenger service,
and cabin preparation duties and mental capacity to read
documents and follow instructions.
• Stamina to work up to 14 hours per day. Physically fit – You
will participate in a physical agility test that is given the
first day of training to test your general lifting and back
strength. Work in aircraft aisles and galleys, standing, reaching
overhead, walking, pushing, pulling and stooping for periods of
long duration, and sitting for take-off and landing.
• Weight must be of such proportion to height that a
professional appearance is maintained and physical ability to
perform all functions is not hindered. The ability to, while
facing forward, walk and fit comfortably down the aircraft aisle,
fit quickly through the overwing window exit, and to fit into a
jumpseat harness without modification, and closure without a
seatbelt extension.
• Ability to work rotating shift work, holidays and/or overtime
and travel on a constant basis. You will be subject to continuous
and frequent contact with others, variable hours and working
conditions, frequent change in climate and weather conditions (we
normally do not use jetways), air turbulence, dry air, varying
noise levels from engines and confined spaces, frequent
takeoff/landings.
• Responsible for the internal cleaning of the aircraft after
each flight.
• No visible tattoos while in uniform.
• Black or brown mascara, lipstick or tinted lip gloss is
required for female Flight Attendants.
• If you have been furloughed from another airline and should
you be hired at SkyWest, you will be required to submit a letter
of resignation to your current airline employer as well as to the
SkyWest Airlines Training Department. SkyWest will confirm
resignation with the prior airline.
• A valid Passport is required. Able to work for SkyWest in the
United States and travel freely among all SkyWest destinations,
both domestic and international.
• The offer of employment is contingent upon successful
completion of FBI fingerprints/background results, physical
agility test, and training.
