I AM SO FRUSTRATED, I HAVE GIVEN THIS AIRLINE 7 OF MY BEST YEARS SO WHY IN THE HELL CAN I NOT CHECK THE LOADS ON MY OWN AIRLINE?!?!?!?!
I am standing at the gate the other day in SFO trying to get on a brasilia home to my pregnant wife in ACV (our home) and I am clueless as to the actual load on the SkyWest flight I am trying to get on.
Anyway this American Eagle FO walks up and says hello to me and he is also trying to go to ACV on our flight and he says it looks pretty good (the load) and I say "how do you know?" and he says "I looked on SABRE" I almost imploded at that point! This dude who works for another airline completely that has no what so ever association with UAL or express can check the loads on SkyWest or UAL with pinpoint accuracy, and after 7 years all I get is "good" or "bad" after 10 minutes with that automatic computer voice idiot on the phone, YHGTBFKM!
Hell, we are the best UEX carrier out there and this is the way UAL treats us! Just so its perfectly clear, every employee at every other UEX carrier has a Skynet logon, that means they all have on United what we all have on Delta, but we are in the dark WHY???
These wonderful travel benefits that this industry roped us in with are becoming more and more useless every day!!!
Any when you call the travel center they just say "sorry we are at the mercy of United" What a great relationship we have with them, it sounds like we are their scared children?
Does anyone else feel as kicked in the teeth and unappreciated as me???

The guy was full of it. American employees can't look in Sabre and get exact loads on United, just as United can't look in Apollo and see loads on Delta. The airlines could (and would) sabotage each other's bookings and res systems if they could look at each others' loads. I hate to tell you, but even if you've been here for 50 years, all the automated deal is going to tell you is good or bad.

The UEX employees you say have Skynet logins (I assume you mean expressnet) can only access that from SkyWest network computers, not at home. Have you tried asking an agent that isn't busy a day or two before you travel how the loads look?

You also said you called the travel center. Did you ask them what the flights looked like or did you just call them to complain about something they have no control over?

I am furloughed TW/AA, and thus have no more access to sabre or jetnet(loads) and work for a obscure outfit that I need to commute to ORD to, and I use the AmericanExpress travel site. I can see all the loads, works great but blocks out the nearest 4 hours of flights so you have to look early. You can also just call the 1-800 nonrev number and just ask. I do that frequently too.

The Eagle guy could have seen on RES whether it was full, half full or empty.
RES will show 0, 4 or 7 for loads on other airlines to distinguish capacity. I check it often when I commute too.

It's not pinpoint accuracy, but the Eagle guy could have seen 7s and known it was pretty empty.

You don't need to check the loads on a Brasila......pretty much if the flight is a Brasilia, it's probably weight restricted and your chances of getting on are pretty BAD....at least it's like that trying to go in and out of FAT city.

In all seriousness though, it is bull$hit that you can't check anymore. Does anyone know why they changed it?

Yeah he could have, which is probably what he did from him telling the OP that the flight looked ‘pretty good’. But seeing how many are available in each class left to be booked doesn’t tell you how full it is unless it’s showing all zeros. The OP felt that the guy somehow had access to exact loads.

The American Express site doesn't tell you how many people are booked, only how many seats have been assigned. Going to just about any airline’s website will give you the same info, but it isn’t exact since exit row seats etc can’t be assigned days ahead of travel date.
