Is SBA really junior for the EMB? If so, Why? What other west coast bases are junior on the EMB and what is the average upgrade time these days?
 
Cost of living is high (go to craigslist.com), all day trips (which is good if you live in or near SB, but bad if you commute). FAT is always jr on the FO/CA side in the BRO. The last Upgrade was about 8-9 months (I think?)Good Luck

All the Brasilias have FMS and AFIS. About half of them have EFIS, but it's kind of EFIS 1.0, so it's not that exciting. We also have this funny box for the Radar, terrain map, and TCAS that runs on Windows NT. It all usually works pretty well, as long as the airplane doesn't get wet.

SBA is junior for Brasilia F/O's, but it's way senior for any other seat. I bearly hold a line as a Brasilia CP in SBA and I'm about 850 out of 2500 in the company. I'm years away from RJ CP in SBA and I'd be mid-pack as an RJ F/O. They could easily expand the RJ base in SBA, but the company seems to be allergic to the idea of adding crews in California.

Are Skywest Brasilias EFIS equipped? FMS?

They have an FMS that's about as sophisticated as a TI-81 graphing calculator. And a retarded monkey could hand-fly a prettier ILS than the autopilot. Don't worry though, you can still tell chicks your plane has all the same equipment as the big planes.

Only problem with getting one of those is it might mask the lav smell :)
