Does anyone know how long it takes to get a call from Skywest after completing the online app?

What is the availability of Sacramento as a base?

How are the lines / reserve lines?

How many days off per month?

Any other basic helpful info is appreciated

Dont know. We are hiring a lot from the open houses right now, and they always give higher priority to the folks that show aup to those.

Heard lot of classess of new hires came from furloughs from other airlines, 135 guys, and CFIs.

Had a couple of guys from other newhire classes from mine getting it. It is quite senior, but patience will payoff in the long run wherever you go.

"How are the lines / reserve lines?"

We have different schedules for reserve depending on the base you are. We have the 6am to 6pm on call time, and the 9am to 9pm on call time schedulr for reserves. Also the ocassional call to do ready reserve too, but I have had one of those so far.

"How many days off per month?"
Depends on the scheduled line you get. They are anywhere from 10 to 16 days off. Depends on the base and the schedule.

My best advice if you want to work here is to try and make the effort to go to one of the open houses.

That sad part is those look like Bose X headsets and the cost alone is the first 4.5 months of pay. Longer if heshe was in the third group for FTD and SIM.

Depends on the scheduled line you get. They are anywhere from 10 to 16 days off. Depends on the base and the schedule.

Not excatly...it depends on if you have recurrent or sim. Then it can go down to 7 and even less when you are JR. man during transition.

I am SAPA lover.

With SAPA covering our backs we will soon have year round all expense paid accommodations as a benefit of our employment with SkyWest. SkyWest will house us 365 days a year.

SAPA will sell us on how much money this free housing program will save us. The SkyWest pilot will not need to pay rent or own a car, buy furniture or pay bills for cable, electricity or gas. As a result our take home pay will not be wasted on things like these. SAPA will point out that other pilot groups are wasting their pay checks on rent, etc. They will even plot a few graphs for the new guys.

It will feel like a 50% net pay increase.

The only problem is you will have to move 365 times during the year.

I'm not an ALPA voter, not even close.

Contract? I think you meant policy manual that ends with "This manual can be changed at any time" No, I have not been the biggest supporter of a union, but after what we have seen, you would have to be a fool not to support it. It is the lesser of two evils. It seems management is running their own union drive...LOL

Actually, I thought SAPA would explain that management just decided to impose this on us, and if they hadn't intervened things would have been even worse! Oh wait, that's only when they directly violate the policy manual. Nevermind.

Recent events seem to crystalize how IN TOUCH Sapa is with mgmt, and how OUT OF TOUCH they are with the pilots. Unbelievable!

By the way, does anyone know if SAPA even has a budget? Say SAPA wanted to sponsor a weenie roast in appreciation for doing a good job, would they have to go to mgmt to ask for weenies and buns?

No small amount of irony that the "policy manual" is printed on brown paper.
Charmin starts out white or pastel and ends up brown too...
