Sup Lee! 9,300 post! You are closing in on 10,000!!!!

I think FI sends a bunch of prizes when you hit that mark.

Can't wait! That is the only reason I post on here, to get prizes! Oh yeah, and to needle people while stirring the pot.

Anything new going on in New Bern? Any new routes for you guys or trips other than HXD layovers at the Tiki hut?

Bye Bye--General Lee

Funny how this comes out while the Union Vote is going on....hmmmm. Something along the lines of throwing the hook/line........ting...ting...ting...WHAMMO!! Once again...he will have you guys following that "proverbial" carrot. DON'T DO IT GUYS!! Something is a brewin and I don't think ya'll are going to like it!

Why not replace the Brasilias with new ATRs? I flew Skywest from SFO to Modesto in May. It was a 20 minute flight at 8000 or 12000, in the Brasilia. Would a jet be really efficient on this run?

Because the ATR would take two hours to get there.

I believe it's 070 going to MOD and 090 coming back to SFO. We quit flying the jet between SFO-SMF and it's just the Bro' now. We can do that run 19min off to on. Do that in the jet! Rumor has it the reduction in the Brasilia is due to LAX not wanting the EMB/The Box combo coming up again.

Funny how these announcements always come out during union drives. This one isn't anything to write home about though. I remember during the last union drive the company posted a "news flash" on skywestonline, that certain high ranking decision makers were at that very time "in Toulouse France at a certain aircraft manufacturers headquarters discussing airplanes." This, followed by "we need to stay competitive to be able to capitalize on oppertunities". I might have fallen for this but already got suckered during the 99 drive with other similar comments and promises that were later swept under the rug. This play almost always works on new guys though and thats why they time these announcements and speculation as they do. The reality of this announcement is that as those jets come online some guys who comfortably live in base in smaller cities will be commuting to LAX or possibly covering multiple airports to get the flying done. Lets just focus on "MORE JETS", yay and union bad, boo as Ford and Harrison/ Skywest Inc want us too ok?

Who cares if there are families in small bases with children who have to transplant the entire family so that they can transition to the jet.

Shuttle America is taking their 170's and putting them on the UAL side. With each one that goes over they will be getting a 175 for the DAL side. The aircraft will only have 76 seats in it and will be 500 lbs below the max under the DAL PWA. This is a sure sign that DAL will try to push the bar up in 09.
There are plenty of 76 slots open. DAL will be geting the 90's plus 15 737. That is three 76 seaters each. That is plenty of growth. That does not even take in to account the 777 and 757's which will add 60 more 76 seaters alone.

And hopefully you guys will tell them to go fu&^ themselves before you'll give up anymore scope.

This annoucement of new jets comes the day before most of the pilots will receive voting instructions in the mail. Nice timing.

What? Don't you trust your management team? I'm sure that is purely coincidental. Otherwise, it would just be toooooo obvious.

Remember, they are not new they are replacements.

Don't say that Too Loud Texx. Skynation might get his feelings hurt! And lets not forget troutsnake...or what ever that idiot kool-aid swilling morons name is...SJS TO THE MAX!!!

Yep, this is that same scenario we see play out over there every time a union vote comes up. I'm sure the Skyw folks that have been around for a while realize what is going on (and how they've been burned before), but with all the newhires over there just happy not to be flight instructing (and drooling over the cool-aid) this could make things more interesting.

Good to luck to yall!
