I'm more concerned with our pilots who have families and obligations. Skywest dirtbags are tarnishing their way of life and economic means of our pilot group, in part because they lack the spine to unionize so I feel no shame in feeling no love loss for skywest pilots, at least the ones that don't feel that they need a union. Those that do, we support you and hope that APLA works out over there.

Sure makes me want to join your little club.

You can't trash a group and then give an atta boy to some as an afterthought. They are in the process of potentially unionizing so give them some credit. They are no more dirtbags for taking our 700's than we would be for taking Comair's 700's. Would you refuse to fly Comair's airplanes if they came here and Comair was still in business?

Would you ground it for some pointless mechanical issue (read dishonest) or would you march into the CP's office and proclaim you will not support the airlines business profile and refuse to fly?

Bwaaahaaaaa, we'll see ASA flying Comair's jets within a few weeks. Hope you're senior enough to avoid the bid otherwise you'll be flying them all right...

Huh? The 700 is the senior airplane at ASA, as usually happens to the higher paying aircraft on property. Although I will admit it is starting to go junior on the FO side due to the transfer of aircraft to SkyWest.

You wouldn't have a chance without a union. You are told what to do, not negotiate. There's a difference in having management tell you what to do and negotiate. But of course you already knew that!

Bigger picture at this point, ASA aircraft moved to SkyWest, Comair planes possibly switched to ASA. Net result so far...ASA already lost airplanes, Comair about to lose airplanes, SkyWest gaining airplanes.

To make it real simple for you brain donor, Auburn is already ALPA so the question was real easy for everyone but you. You are the only numbnuts not to get it, probably because of oxygen difficiency because the General is holding your ears too tight. Why don't you do everyone a favor and throw yourself on something sharp, similar to your pointed head.

Those twenty vacancies went to the twenty junion guys on the 200 list. Good luck getting off it without going to LAX for a month.

Nothing like brining the industry down for the concerned 737/767 pylots. Perhaps if unionized folks had some gumption, they'd internalize (since I know decertification is not addressed in RLA), create a better working relationship with their management, retain their flying or get even more. As it stands, their anti-competitive self-serving mindset (don't kid yourself) leads to more problems than it appears to influence. I'm sure non-unionization as a factor has some bearing on gaining flying, controlling for it statistically I bet we'd see that fact alone would not predict an airline's ability to gain flying. I always chuckle, "unionized jobs"...talk about cool-aid. That mindset is leading to the dearth of the union movement across industries, not the process itself.

Maybe the cheerleaders are refusing to acknowledge the problem but the MEC sure isn't. Have you ever asked Tom or Dave what they are doing about it? Are they ignoring the problem? Do they like that aircraft are leaving ASA?
I have and they don't have their heads in the sand! I wish people like you and John would stop slinging mud just b/c you're pissed. I'm pissed too, that's why I call and get the facts. I understand the position our MEC is in, whether I like it or not.



Just curious as I am somewhat out of the loop. Are we trying to stop future aircraft transfers at the negotiating table? Are we negotiating for scope that will guarantee current numbers or percentages for total flying between us and Skywest?? The reason I ask is that I have not once read or heard that we were going down this road. What I am reading is that management already knows where they are going so discussion in this area is worthless. Anyone out there in the know??

SKYW CR7 Capt will now top out at about $102/hr
A Delta 737 Capt tops out at $134/hr.

Both rates suck in my opinion, but the difference isn't that out of wack.
There's more to an airline's success than hourly rates, otherwise Allegiant would be taking over the world (MD-80 CA tops at $108).
 
Was waiting to go to ORD on "Dixie" yesterday in ATL and say a CRJ9 take off from 26L. First time I've seen one. Don't know where it was going.
 
Yeahhhhh...the 900 is coming, the 900 is coming!!!! Now lets all sit back and watch the industry crumble. We can all FLY Den to Bos for $25 bucks an hour on the 900....Yeahhhhhh. I cant wait to see all those mainline guys lined up at the local soup kitchen!

Where do you come up with $102/hr? No CR7 driver at SKYW will make that...and it's not a seperate rate anyway, only an override!

Wouldn't the failure to negotiate scope rest with those same mainline pilots? I'm not saying that I wish anyone to lose their job, but I don't understand your new found outrage, you're kind of late to the party, aren't you?

Not sure who did my math last night - you're right 93/hr x 1.08% at the third year = 100.44. I agree, its only an override.

My point is that when I peruse the major's pay rates, they suck too. I'm not saying SKYW rates rock, they suck, but c'mon an A320 Capt at UAL tops at $131/hr with a 65 hr guarantee. How much more can SKYW pilots make when our major partner makes that flying a plane with more than twice the capacity.

I am an ALPA supporter, but I really think Woerth and the last 6 years will go down as some of the worst in ALPA history. They were the one group that could have roped in this whole RJ mess.

I hate reading on FI about how excited SKYW pilots are to fly the 900s. Its total BS. There are so many SKYW pilots with 5+yrs who gladly fly the Brasilia and couldn't care less about the RJs.

If it were up to me, regionals would be flying nothing but TPs and there would be some jobs at majors. Unfortunately, the majors couldn'c hold onto their scope limits and we all suffer.
