Any truth to a rumor that Delta approached Skyway to pick up ACA's DoJet routes? Heard it today - seems somewhat logical.

I've been hearing these rumors from different sources for several weeks now.
You're right, it does seem logical, as Skyway is the only (to my knowledge) carrier that operates 328 jets and can just take over those of ACA.

We'll see what happens

Anyone know if Skyway is hiring? And if so what the competitive mins are?

Oh $#iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I never thought about that....oh well....

I hope we get this "I" air started quick!!!

Any skyway pilots PM me with current contract pay rates for next year after the consessions? Thanks.

I would think that Great Plains would not quite be in the running since they only have 2 DOjets. From the number of A/C that ACA operates for Delta WHOEVER does the flying for them will need some 328 crews trained up in a hurry plus Check Airmen plus Mechs.
Any thoughts Buellar?

Skyway and 328's

A buddy of mine works at Skyway and he told me the same rumor about three weeks ago. I know it's hard to say, but has anyone heard (if this does happen) what the timeframe would be? I mean, are they talking years, 6 months, or what? Also, how many DO328's does ACA have?

The real consideration if this is a true rumor, is how many ACA pilots will go with the airplanes. If none do and they take just the assets, that is great for hiring at Skyway. If the pilots go with the airplanes it will help no one especially the ACA pilots who will take a pay cut.

yeah, that's true. It would depend if the ACA pilots came with the a/c or not. How many DO328's does ACA have, anyway?

The ACA contract only has pilots go with the aircraft if it is 40 % of the fleet at the time of sale and it would have to be one transaction. If my memory serves me correct. The 33 328's don't meet that 40% mark. And I think the pilots have a chose if they go or not. I don't think many if any would want to.

Skyway or CMR

Well, if the aircraft go to Comair, some of the pilots may cross over. But if the aircraft go to Skyway, chances are very slim that any will make the move. If Skyway does get the aircraft, it will be a implimentative nightmare to get those routes running at full steam without pre trained personnel. I think Delta will think twice about this one.;)

If any crews go over to Comair they would be at the bottom of Comairs senoirity list, there is no way around that. As far as it being an Nightmare I really don't see how it would be any different than for any other carrier that would do the flyin; except that we allready fly it so it kinda makes the spool up time a lot shorter.
Take care

I guess Delta feared interupting service - and since Skyway already has the training dept and all, the shift would be a quicky.

To reply pipejockey's question, Skyway is hiring, it is not a rumor and the mins are 700/50. (700/50 - it's not a typo).

Bottom of the list? I doubt that. That would be extremely hipocritical of them.

I'd rather get stuck flying at CMR than Skyway, though. I imagine the pay rates for the Do would be higher at CMR (which probably means they'd go to skyway!)

No. ACA and COMAIR are both ALPA, it wouldn't be difficult to integrate the list. There's no way 2-3 year ACA F/O's are going to the bottom of the list of another ALPA carrier.

If the Skyway rumor is true, I hope and pray Independence air staffs up the CRJ's...
