Decent place to work:
Probably one of the best places to work in the sense that everybody knows everybody. Within 2 months you would probably know almost every pilot at the company because we are so small and everybody is treated like family.

Upgrade time:
By far the fastest upgrade time of any regional right now. New hires in June '05 will be upgrading in February. So you are talking about 6 months of line flying before upgrading. We had a ton of people leave Skyway in spring/summer of '05 to go to different regionals and are now regretting it.

Commutting:
I don't do it so I can't speak of personal experience but there are people that do and make it work. Commutting sucks no matter what company you work for. If you can make it to MKE in one flight then it's not too bad but I don't know how people do it who have to make 2 connections to get to work.

If you are serious about working for a regional, I urge you to take a serious look at Skyway. Good luck.

Im out folks....GOULET!

Main thread is pretty long.

I worked at Skyway for about a year and a half on the 328 after being furloughed from ACA/Independence. Great group of guys and I enjoyed it. Can't say I regret leaving though. Sitting in a 1900 in the middle of the winter (about 7-8 months of the year in the U.P.) with every overnight in the UP of Michigan isn't too appealing to myself. Not to mention only having 10 days off per month. Less if junior assigned. QOL is not as desirable as other regionals if you have worked at other companies and have something else to compare Skyway to. The QOL would not be worth the commute to MKE for me. If you live in base though it's doable and it's a good place to build 121 time.

Just email the resume as the body of the email. IF you have to mail it, at least send it to HR.

Thats strange, why is the address listed on pilotjobs.com that I posted different that this one???

its is a good place, only been here 3 months, and i love it. passengers love flying us, until we are 30 mins late on a clear day waiting for the ramp. you get 10 days off at least a month. 11 days if your a line holder. commuting isnt horrible. at least i dont have a family yet, so being on reserve 20 days a month, i sit around MKE and do nothing, then commute home for 2 days. at least we dont have to sit at the airport like tsa and mesa. i heard the 1900 lines arent very commutable, but thats only speculation as im not on the 1900... and wtf do i know but doing it on reserve kinda sucks... but that is your decision to make so i deal with it. but if your the #1 FO in FEB and your from DSM you have a nice schedule, dont know what thats all about???? oh well. its great, great people, have flown with all very nice down to earth people thus far... good luck! upgrade time, well who the hell knows, but someone before was right guys on the 1900 are like around 1.5 years upgrade. who knows how long the 1900 will be around for, and for that matter who knows anything?

im guessing the 1900 will be around for 3 years, 8months, 3weeks, 5 days, 16 hours and 32 seconds.... so ive heard;)

good place to work

I loved Skyway when I was there, great people, small group so you really get to know everyone. I was hired for the Delta 328 thing that never came into being, did a whole lot of reserve sitting and not a whole lot of flying I am sure things are different now. Cant say I regret leaving, I miss the people, but there are other regionals out there that are about the same. But not all of them serve fresh baked Cookies

Stephanie Miller was in charge of hiring, she is super nice, but I have no idea if she is still there or does the hiring.

OMG
