Change of the Guard

Your right the Chief stepped out, but do to personal reasons.
The company has a new chief. He is a retired Airline Captain that does not want to get involved in his wife's honey do list, well that may just be a rummor though. Great guy and man with plenty of gusto.
 
Have a college classmate currently working at Skytaxi who is leaving due to his paycheck bouncing. Something to think about.
 
Have not heard bad things but haven't heard good either. First of all, lets analyze the situation....

You've got an on-demand 135 business STILL trying to sell franchises and this company was started by a dude who's got a reputation for starting businesses then selling them off. Next you've got C-414's for equipment being operated in the Pacific Northwest (winter weather).

So lets say that some customer is crazy enough to call at 3am needing to get from Salem to Seattle, they get on a piston twin, pay out the a**, and you get the phone call.... Now you're taking off into the mediocre January weather (with terrain) and you lose an engine....don't know if a 414 will handle that with a trace of ice but it might if the engine is strong.

I failed to mention that it's a two pilot operation so what you think that dude freaking out in back would rather do to make that 8am meeting in Seattle? Pay the same fare to SkyTaxi as he'd pay for Horizon? Drive the 4 hours? Meanwhile the company's operating cost on the aircraft in addition to paying the two pilots is not being met and they going in debt.

Here is a better scenario.....You always get paid on time, the equipment is choice, management has a good clientel built up, the company has a great reputation for safety, honesty, and efficiency. And best of all, you don't have to hang around your destination airport all day waiting for a possible customer to call. On the flipside, you gotta stay the night and SkyTaxi puts you up in a nice hotel and gives you per diem.

I don't know much or make much sense but with a start-up 135 company I'd definitely find out the little details about mx records like call the FSDO and leave a message with their POI/PMI, talk to pilots who work there, think about their routes, if you get paid to sit in the hotel, and what the outlook is for the company, etc....I do know that much

C-414 is a pig with both of 'em running.
 
skytaxi has died

Poorly run company from the get go. but managed to suck revenue out of local fbos before it croaked.
 
Is Sky Taxi trying to make a comeback? In Neveda.
Climb to 350 has an posting for Sky Taxi West and they mention Neveda ,what is the story?
