Does anyone subscribe to SkyJobs.net or PlaneJobs.com? I'm already a climbto350.com and I'm considering this employment website. I don't want to pay $50 until I know it's worth it...anyone got any opinions?

Thanks!

Skyjobs.net is a "repeater" who gets listings off of several employment sights and posts them on their sight. I've never seen any type of subscription with them. Planejobs.com seems to have some pretty good jobs that are not posted all over the internet. However, I'm not a subscriber. Someone on this board posted horror stories about climbto350 and their billing practices. You might find the thread by doing a search. It's been over a year now.

Got my present job off of planejobs without knowing a soul at the co. Saw a posting, sent a resume. and got a call about 3 hours later. Well worth the $ for me. Of course I had also sent out about 500 other resumes to similar postings on 350 and others so.....

Good luck

I was the one posting climbto350 horror stories last year...I would avoid paying them money at all costs. Planejobs seems OK, with some good job postings.

Good Luck

Job Boards

The climate and number of offerings by job boards has grown appreciably over the last few years. Here are some comments

AEPS- was the inventor of the system. Created by Jim Dent in his garage in Ft. Lauderdale. Good system, liked by employers for allt he features, good job fairs, etc. ALPA took from Dent in suit over UPAS and was handed to Kit Darby and Air Inc who runs it now.

Climbto350-- Started by Chris Taylor. Used to take jobs from everywhere and post them -- especially the overseas ones. Not much substance - started charging for membership when advertising revenue did not get the job done

Planejobs-- Started by Dent when it looked like he would lose AEPS. Simpler than AEPS but he had relationships and understands business.

Avianation- Started by thte programmer who did 350 == simple but no industry background.

Careers.aero started by the people who designed AEPS only simpler version. Got shafted in the deal with ALPA and AEPS.

AVfirms -- JSfirm and a bunch of ohers-- depends on what you are looking for.

Got My Job

Current member of Planejobs.com Got my job through them Lots of good jobs and info
Skyjobs.net is Free

dont pay for any.

I found a job a few years back on ane - Avcrew.com

seriously no need to pay, they all list BS jobs anyways..you will hear about them all on places like this board anyways.

good luck!

Have subscribed to all three at some point in the last seven years.

AEPS was great back in 97-2000 but I dropped it when the decent pilot job postings dropped to only one or two a week back in 2000. From what I hear it still sucks.

ClimbTo350 was pretty decent for a short period of time after its inception, got a temp job flying Lears up in New York off there back in '98 but it too went fairly useless about a year and a half ago. Every job I see there after it goes "unclassified" is always on PlaneJobs.

PlaneJobs.com is by far the best right now. I've had three interviews with three job offers in the last year off that site; it has everything from entry-level banner towing and CFI work to corporate and 121 jet jobs in both seats and the price is pretty darn reasonable compared to others.

You hear about 50% of them on this site, tried to find more information about several of them here with varying results. This forum is a great research tool, but if you're serious about finding a job NOW, I'd pay the $10 a month to Planejobs - best bang for your buck IMHO.

Good luck!

PlaneJobs web site

I recently subscribed to Planejobs.com - more jobs posted there than I see elsewhere for free, and many I don't see posted elsewhere at all.

I had a question about a possible erroneous posting on the site which I brought to their attention, and they immediately replied to me, and withdrew the posting. At least I had a prompt reply and they did the right thing.

As I'm looking for a specific geographic area, I'm hopeful this site will post something of help to me. With the number of daily posts of so many jobs, It'll only be a matter of time. I'd definitely recommend it. No, I'm not on commission!

Good hunting to one and all!
