So you didn't mind "undercutting the industry" while it suited you. How do you spell hypocrite?

Give me a break... Jetblue undercut the industry just as much as Skybus is doing now. Compare their 2000 pay rates vs the industry....

Guys making 180-200k with 18-21 days off? Now tell me Einstein how this is possible. Even time and a half over 70 hours can't come close to that. I know because I used to work there. There were a few making near that, but they were whoring themselves out and working far more than 10-13 days a month (I am using 31 day months to give you a break). Limited at 100 hours a month and working in the sim can't come close to that figure...

I don't work at JetBlue but I will take a stab at it. You say 100hr/month:
$120/hr x 70 hrs = $8400 (standard)
$180/hr x 30 hrs = $5400 (premium)
+ $700/mo perdiem = $14,500 per month
$14500/mo x 12 months = $174000
Now throw in new 5% 401 match = $8700
$182,700 yr.
Check airman...toss in another $10,000 and you get $192,700
Profit sharing under the new program, stock buyback program and hiring stock options can add in more also bringing the total close to $200k per year.

It seems possible but I have doubts they can be that productive over an entire year. Maybe for a few months out of the year. Probably would have to work more than 10-12 days a month too. Any jb guys want to chime in?

All:

Some JB guys get pay over and above 100 hours per month volunteering to sit reserve when the company is short reserves. This is why we have a few guys who top $220K.

"Oh, and don’t sneak food onboard unless you brought enough for the whole plane."

This makes me want to purchase a ticket along with 20 pizzas to share and have a little fun.

Mamma,

You are still capped at 1000 hrs/yr. There is very little soft time at Jetblue. And, yes there are some people making 180-200k, but they spend every waking hour working.

I was "undercutting the industry" for awhile. Their pay was better than startup wages. I was hired in spring '03 and they had already received a raise. I left after the -190 rates were increased.

Now that we've had the inevitable drifting of this thread to jetBlue...can we discuss cleaning the cabin?

Skybus groomers get to keep what they find in the cabin. It's like a "tip".

Pilots must pay for any newspapers they find the cabin, since groomers have "dibs". To enforce the rule, each pilot's paycheck will be reduced for each section of newspaper removed from the cabin by the pilot.

Since no one can live on 8.00 per hr I think they will probably live on tips like the bartenders do here in the Keys. Maybe the pilots could pass around a tip jar since they can't leave the cockpit. Isn't the liquid limit still 3 oz for carry on? They could sell a lot of water on those long flights.

I saw the company headquarters in CMH. All the entrances have revolving doors.......

Have a buddy that is a CA at Jb he sold some of his initial options last year at $9.50 ish and took $100,000 in profit

On top of his CA pay he made just over $327,000 for the year and averaged 14 hard days off per month for the entire year.

The guys getting 19-21 days off per month are doing the back to back Dead Head to CUN, Aruba, or West coast and operate the return.. They are getting anywhere from 9-12 hrs credit per day paid.. Throw in an RSA or 2 and its an easy $200K+

Too bad this is only available to the top few

Excuse me, flight attendant...... I have to pee. Can I give 2 quarters as payment or can you make change for buck.........And if need to do a number two....is that $2.00? or can I use my newspaper and get a discount....
