anyone hear anything other than what i heard on ATC? sounded like a CRJ couldnt get the nose gear lite to come on

CRJ collapse

Skywest 50 seat CRJ. According to the news they had a "gear light problem" on final, the pilot decided to land anyway.

Nose gear collapsed on landing. 24 including crew onboard. No reported injuries.

FORT WORTH, Texas -- A plane's nose gear collapsed on landing, causing an evacuation of passengers and the shut down of a runway at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

The Sky West Flight 2732 from Colorado Springs arrived around 5:10 p.m. with 24 people on board, including the crew.

No one was injured.

The plane is a Canadair TRJ II. It can hold up to 50 passengers.

A TRJ II?? *laughing* I love the way news reports mess at least one thing up!

definitly a bad week to cap the glue..

..but thanks for letting us rest assure knowing that it just might NOT be the pilots fault...I think lots of us were pointing fingers at those dumb pilots again - you know, we trust the media...and we always KNOW right away what caused accidents....but again, thanks for sticking up for the pilots man.

:(

awright...Lester - back away from the 12 pack, its a little early in the evening now, Isn't it?

Les

Lighten then fu@k up. Life is too short to be such an asshole all the time.

You are free to speak your opinion. We all know about opinions, don't we?

Next time you get a jumpseater, be sure to ask if he or she is that sarcastic jerk from flight info. If it's me, I'll be sure to tell you so. Maybe next time I get a jumpseater, I'll ask them if they are the uptight d!ckhead from flight info that thinks everyone wants to repress the "man" and his views. Either way, I'll laugh at you.

Les,

that was Sarcasm my man...

glad you understood it so well..

wake up Les, everyones messing with you.

eh, maybe its me, but I think ole' Les here is messin' with us, nobody can be this dumb (pilot or otherwise)

Either way, I would have just landed too, usually that gear is down JUST fine..

:D

I don't know. A quick glance at his post history might make you think twice on that one. ;)

I doubt that.. in fact that is such a boldface lie.. you lose credibility.

Ask all your jumpseaters the question. It's up to you to find out. I've laughed at better than you stud.

My opinion on the subject is this... Not every word that is written has a hidden message. Although not an accurate choice of words, the statement in itself was correct. The aircraft had a problem and the pilots decided to land.

Your points are understood and correct. That does not change the fact that you have a problem talking to others in a respectful manner.

You're obviously here as a flamer as all of your 30 or so posts have been negative.

....and for that, I laugh at you. LOL

I guess I was wrong...:(

With due respect to the many fine professional aviators who lurk here, I will officialy NEVER fly on a RJ again. Ever.

just cant take the chance..(i aint talkin about gear problems here..)

Im outta this one!

Just a hunch but I would bet Les is a Republican. ;)

Okay, back to the SUBJECT at hand!!

I personally know both pilots- I did my PC check with the captain 6 months ago and the FO lives across the street from me. Both are VERY competent pilots and the company is genuinely supporting them in these first few hours after the incident.

Don't know any more details yet. . .

i am suprised no one has blamed this on MESA yet..... I am sure we can find some reason it happened as a direct result of MESAs contract or something....... Ok I am done, early show tomorrow...... good night

According to the news they had a "gear light problem" on final, ...
And, from the Airliners.net picture caption:
This Skywest CRJ performed her normal roll-out, but then lost the nose gear as she began her taxi to the terminal.
I wonder which it was. Indication problem on final? Collapsed on landing? or collapsed while taxiing?

At least we won't be discussing slides on this one :)

Too bad this didn't happen in an ERJ. They could have just opened the window and looked downstairs to see if the gear was there.
