Did a quick Google. Found sites called Airdisasters,pilots.com, and Lastwords posting dying crew's CVRs. Had UAL and Delta crash audio. If these are out there, I don't see much hope of the Ghouls in the media not being able to get their hands on the most sensational CVR tapes in the history of aviation.

Are you guys still at it?

If the CVR was played on a treadmill that moved at exactly the same speed in the opposite direction, could you hear the sound?

Yes, but one of their clock's would be slower than the other's.

With all due respect Occam, I found my answer thanks to contributing posters. The union does not define what is or isn't legitimate purpose, the law does. ALPA was merely stating their interest that existing law be upheld.

The media article was misleading, as they usually are...and it mislead me to believe that ALPA was trying to define "legitimate purpose", when that wasn't the case.

I think there was a lot of learning to be had in this thread, at least for me there was.

Whatever.

My post was tongue-in-cheek.
