Please understand there are two different Harvey's... the hotel, and the suites. I very much preferred the hotel. There was more going on, more people, better food, better deal on drinks, and the roof-top jacuzzi was at the hotel. They are across the street from each other, but worlds apart.

There are two Embassy Suites. One is attached to the Bass Pro Shop, the other is further west. Go with the one attached to the Bass Pro Shop, even if it costs you more.

Also, there is a Baymont Inn in Gravevine for those that are severely budget conscience.

Of course, INMHO, stick with Flight safety for the best training.

Please let us know how it goes.

Respectfully,

JayDub

JayDub,

Thanks for the clarification. I am excited about this course because it is the first "official" training from a training facility
FlightSafety and Simuflite....

Thanks again and I'll let you know how it goes.

Gosh, I remember my first course that wasn't "in-house". Boy, are you in for a pleasant surprise! Books that aren't Xeroxed 100 times! Good luck and have fun!

I highly recommend the Harvey as well!
Nice bar, restaurant, pool, rooms, weight room, hot tub, free Dallas paper in the morning, decent looking gals behind the desk ; )~
They'll even cart your a** to the Grapevine Mills Mall for free.

Last March, I got on Priceline.com the day before leaving for Simuflite, put in a price of $35 per night (2 nights for King Air recurrent), and it gave me the Hyatt Regency at DFW Airport. Beautiful hotel, right on Int'l Pkwy, and the hotel validates the toll for the pkwy.

Dallas Food and Lodging

I stay at the Marriott North. It's a 10 minute drive down an airport service road to SimuFlite and it has a JW's Steakhouse on premises. The Mansion on Turtle Creek is a great place to eat and Star Canyon and Blue Mesa are worth the drive.

The Mansion and Star Canyon? Swing on over to Bob's and then off to The Lodge while you are at it.

If you have the means, I highly recommend it.

You must be making that G-V money.

Thanks to all for your help.

I got a great deal at the Homewood Suites in Grapevine.
Friendly staff continental breakfast and if you have an early sim session they have a bagel, cream cheese, apple and yogurt to take with you. Also there shuttle runs from 7am - 11pm.
If you happen to have an early sim session you can take a taxi and they reimburse you.

Tomorrow is my checkride so I need to go and review some items.

Thanks again to all for the info.

What do you recommend eating at the Lodge?

I have fond memories of the Harvey, including the free drink tix at check-in (I was there 14 days, so I got 28 of 'em and spent 'em on Fat Tire drafts while I went over my 3x5 note cards.

If you want to get out and have some good beer and food, I would recommend Humperdincks.

The buffet.
