Anyone gone through the falcon 10 course in Dallas recently? Any info on it? Any info on simuflite in general? Our company usually goes through FSI for 10 school but their schedule wasn't working with ours so we're trying simuflite. Any info anyone can share would be appreciated.

Don't know about the Falcon 10 program. I just finished the Hawker 800XP initial. The whole place seems to be a lot more laid-back than FSI. There were some things that I liked about FSI better and some things that I liked here at Simuflite. I do know that they are usually cheaper than FSI. Everyone here I talked to said that was the case and that is why they were there at Simuflite. Hope this helps some.

It's been a while since I've gone to SimuFlite but I have a close friend who is an instructor there and it sounds like the same place as before. Instructors are a friendly and fair bunch. 676 is right about being more laid back. They used to have a good cafe on site which beat trying to rush out for lunch. However, things have built up so much around there since my last visit, I know there are good places to eat within a couple minutes drive.

I just checked on prices for the Citation Ultra and SimuFlite is considerably less expensive than FSI. I've never quite figured out how or why...just the way it is I guess.

I've been going to Sim. Flite since 1995 and they are good. Very helpful. Don't worry about not passing, they will make sure you get thru. That's why you pay to big bucks.

Simuflite DFW is great facility with half-way decent cafeteria food. Put the "its not Flightsafety" thinking away (if you have it, if not, then disregard, sorry...), I recommend Simuflite DFW

I went to 1900C at FSI La Guardia and the sim broke every session and the classroom ceilings had old nasty gray pipes exposed, with dim lighting. It depressed me

I did LR-JET F/O and my B-737 type rating at SimuFlite DFW, it's a great place, I'll put in another good word on the cafeteria, they got some good food there.

Both sims flew nice also.

I did DA-20 F/O training at FlightSafety DFW and it was alright too, if I had a choice I would go to Simuflite, FlightSafety had a "be quiet, you're at the library" type of environment to me, Simuflite was definatley a lot more layed back and comfortable place.

I think you'll like it.

Thans for the replies! Our experience with FSI in the past has been positive, you get to know the instructors and all but the friction in this relationship was over their 10 sim which continually breaks. We had a captain come back from recurrent several weeks ago and said the sim broke 3 times on his checkride alone. I think that the sim breaking and the scheduling problems combined to open the door for simuflite. I've heard nothing but good things about them and I'm looking forward to their atmosphere. Our CP said the same thing, he's heard all good things. I get to be the guinea pig but I don't think it will be bad at all!

Well, just look at who the owner of FSI is and how many aviation insurance providers he is involved with and make the connection.

I can back up the fact that Simuflite was more laid back with student chatting in the hallways and stuff like that, relaxed. Also has a good library with free internet

as far as hotels, nothing on-site, but Marriott DFW South is nice, lots of guys stay there, it is about a 4 year old hotel, free parking, free airport shuttle, the shuttle driver will take you to rental car facility if you want.

often AA flight attendant classes will stay there

D@mn! We're staying at the Embassy Suites North...I think. I know it's not the "outdoor world" one with the bass pro shop connected to it.

Embassy Suites Bass Pro Shops is in Grapevine and it actually is a little out of the way from DFW Simuflite.

However, the official restaurant of all corporate pilots is north about 5 miles, that would be

Outback

Barnes and Noble/Starbucks across the highway from Outback

need I say more?

:)

I can be from Grapevine Mall and/or Embassy Suites Bass Pro Shops to Simuflite in 7 minutes flat. I used to live right by there and did a LOT of simulator support (sandbagging) in the 727 sim at FlightSafety Boeing (2 miles north of Simuflite), so I wouldn't say it's "out of the way"...

Personally, I'd rather stay there than many other places because of the mall, restaurants, theaters, etc, all within walking distance (in case you don't have a car to get around and use the hotel shuttle to get to and from Simuflite).

Ditto the cafeteria there. Great food, not too pricey, and definitely better than what FlightSafety TUS had (nothing - automobile required).

anybody remember what the predominant attire was? Slacks, polo, button down, jeans, shorts? I'm guessing slacks/jeans and polo shirts with something nicer for the checkride...am I right?

Anything seemed to be worn. I saw jeans, shorts you name it was being worn. I don't they really care what you are wearing. As long as you have something on. You or your company are footing the bill. So wear what you want.

Simuflite's on-site restaurant has some kick-a$$ egg salad sandwiches, too!!:D

I stayed at the Marriott South, great hotel. Not as many restaurants around there without having to get in your car, though. The Embassy suites @ the Bass pro shop has more choices as to whachawanna eat.

Both very convenient to Simuflite.

I'll give another thumbs-up for Simuflite. I was very impressed from the moment I walked into the huge atrium with the cascading waterfall, to the day I took my ride. The training was on par with anything I experienced at the big airline training centers.

**this isn't to knock Flightsafety...I've also had good experiences there too. But on a facility to facility comparison, Simuflite wins hands down.

Thumbs up for Simuflite. Instructors are not cookie cutter types like FSI. Very knowledgeable and are always willing to help.Cafe has great food at a reasonable price. As for lodging, Embassy Suites at the Pro Bass Shop, Grapevine is great. Full breakfast in the morning. Free happy your from 5-7 every night. It is only about 7 minutes away and has a shuttle bus if needed.
