I heard a center controller use the moniker "Slow-tation" again the other day. C'mon, it can't be that bad!

I've never even stood near one, and I know less than nothing about its performance. Citation drivers, how fast does your steed cruise, anyway?

The straight wing Citations were/are the culprit.

I know the Citation 500 and Citation I's are slow... like 350-360 KTAS (Mach 0.62-0.64). I guess the Citation II's are a little better, somewhere around 380-390 KTAS (Mach 0.66-0.68). The Citation V gets better at around 420 KTAS (Mach 0.72). I heard the Citation V Ultra does around 430 KTAS (Mach 0.73-0.74)

The Citation 650 series (Citation III / VI / VII) are a lot better. They can do 460-470 KTAS (Mach 0.80-0.82)

Hope this helps.

CE501/ S-550 / 560

For filing purposes...

CE501 - 320KIAS (basically a king-air jet w/o much cabin)
CE-S550 (SII) - 400KIAS
CE560 (Straight 5's) - 420 (on a good day)

Our CE 500 using 96-98% N1 at or above FL350: 310K, Max cruise N1 burns more gas baut gives 330K with the Pratt & Whitney engines.

CE525, the citationjet, trues at 370 in the low 30s...the CJ2 at 410 (a little more respectable, I guess...)

CE750. That's a ride. Got to go on a demo flight. We did .85 in the climb to FL390. 22 minutes. Put the nose down and did .92. Way cool!!!!!1

Try 330 for a 501. I flown Turbines faster then it, the MU 2 and Conquest II

MU-2 and Conquest II's do not go 330 KTAS. Better check your numbers... I think the modified "Dash 10" Conquest II was advertised at 295 KTAS.

Are you sure about the -10 Conquest only being 295. I was talking to 2 owners about there's and they both told me 315. Still slower then the 501 but not much. I don't know about the Solitaire but the Long Body I've flown was 295, I think. But I only got 4 hours in it so I may be wrong. What kinda Falcon do you fly?
