Got an interview with Eagle on the 11th, does anyone know any details on the sim profile other than the really light stuff on aviationinterviews.com...like power setting, speeds, etc... they are doing it in an ERJ-145 sim...

Also, does anyone know about the medical exam that eagle conducts...intensive or pulse check?

Dont really have any info but I do have a question.

How long ago did you send a resume? Any internal help?

sent it about a week and a half ago..and no internal help..talked to michelle in h/r and they said they went off my resume to offer me an interview, they didnt even wait until i filled out an application..go figure, its ok by me...:D

cool, hope to see you there, what part of the us r u in? im in los angeles....send me a private note and we can exchange email addresses....found out a bit about the medical too.....sheesh....better layoff the krispy kremes...LOL

Medical

Don't stress to much about the medical. However, it is quite in depth. Here is what to expect. About 3-4 hours by the time it is all said and done. multiple hearing tests, near and far vision, glaucoma, blood tests, blood pressure in both arms, X-rays of chest and abdomen, cognitive computer test, interview with AA Med doctor. (At least this is the way it was 4 years ago., no prostate exam though.) They test for about 7-10 things in your blood, if one comes back a little high, they will let you correct and re-submit. My AME's advice, BE VERY HYDRAYTED. Good luck with the interview.

My advice about the medical, don't worry. They find something wrong with about 90% of the people that used to get it. It should qualify you for the space shuttle when it's over. They will test everything you can think of and then some.

Dont they have to extend an employment offer prior to doing this testing? I thought someone disputed that a few years back and it now falls under the americans with disabilities act.... in other words they cant rescind the offer because of a medical...

Maybe I am way off base though...

I remember when I interviewed there the medical was similiar to a Air Force medical exam. In fact (AA and Eagle pilots get the same medical exam at Center Point 4) a AA new hire sitting next to me said that his Air Force exam was just a few more steps but very similiar. Don't sweat the exam but you may get a red flag for blood work or the hearing booth test. Good luck!

What percentage of applicants do not get the job because of the medical exam? Any recent interviewees have anything to add about the current exam?

I have the interview and medical next week. Anyone know how hard the eye tests are? What are the standards?

its not that bad if they find something. they will just have you see your doctor and have him send a letter. I have only heard of 1 person that did not make it. good luck Eagle is hiring allot this year, and it's good to get in the front of the line.

Medical exam

how bout just going over and taking a astronauts physical at nasa. It sounds like AE and NASA use about the same physical. Its fitting because back in the early 90s you needed time in the space shuttle anyway to get considered for an interview. A couple moon landings may have impressed the regionals a wee bit.

Regarding Eagle: It's a pretty good company, my friends over there complain most of the time, but who in the industry doesn't? Unfortunately, I will not be returning with them from furlough, I called the other day and cancelled my spot in the class, so that will help those of you out there seeking to be hired by them, well a little anyway. ;) They will be hiring a lot soon too. Plan on going to San Juan most likely.

Regarding the interview/medical: I did it not too long before 9/11. You'll have to fast beforehand. They are going to test you on just about everything, vision (acuity, peripheral, color, depth), hearing (sound chamber, visual inspection), chest x-ray, blood work, urine specimen, sitting and reclining EKG, and it ends with an examination by a physician ("stand on one foot, hold your arms out", etc.). The thing to worry about however in my mind is the cognitive skills test that they do on a computer. It tests short term memory, motor skills and mental aptitude. On my day, two people failed this and were dismissed. There's not much you can do to prepare for it unfortunately. As for the interview, it is (or at least was) pretty straightforward, some trivial pursuit stuff, the gouge sites have some good info. Know your answers to the HR typical questions BEFORE you go in there. Practice them out loud, speak from the heart, be sincere and all should be fine.

Good luck there, I will miss some things, not others. I am quite happy where I am now.

God bless!

A seven year jet fo makes 4 cents more an hour than a second year comair fo. I'm glad those flow through guys are happy.

You'd think that with all of the cost savings measures in place they'd just get rid of the medical exam. Wouldn't a 1st class FAA medical requirement be enough? Go figure.
